Check out Oki Golf. They have 5-6 high end courses around and offer a members card for $350. Gives you one round on all their courses with a cart. Run April 1 for a year. Most are closer than chambers if not all. Some city courses in Seattle but always packed. I tend to go towards Bremerton and play trophy lake or gold mountain. About as far as chambers bay. Worth the drive.
Ya that area is a little more high and mighty on themselves. Too much msft money. Head south and it’s more of a country scene. I’m in west Seattle by the beach. Totally different vibe.
Re: weather. I was all happy it was sunny Saturday and wore shorts golfing. I learned it was a little to early. Good news the best time of the year is coming. Report back at the end of the summer. I believe there is no better place than seattle for summers. The other 6 months it’s rough.
What part of town are you located? Each neighborhood is so different. The Seattle stereotype fits certain areas. Areas where the lifelong locals live. The transplants seem to stick together and do not share the same views.

Some advice.. Find friends who are transplants to Seattle as they will be more open minded and may even align with your views. Locals who are born and raised in Seattle are the worse. The term Seattle Freeze is real. I have lived here for 8 years including college and not one of my friends was born and raised in Seattle.
PS outdoor gun range in Renton is awesome as well as a few back country spots around snoqualmie pass. May our paths cross some time
