It doesn’t matter whether you’ve previously had a relationship with the person or how long you’ve known them for, you need to make sure you ask them directly to figure out whether it’s a date. 500 Days of Summer was not meant to be an instruction book.
A wise college friend put it like this: you should drink to become happier, not to become happy. Blacking out to forget your troubles falls a little closer to the latter than the former.
Ancedotally, most of the people who were top of the class at my school started school in their late 20s or even 30s. The top 2 or 3 people came straight from undergrad, but they were the type of people who were either geniuses or developed good enough study habits to graduate school in 3 years.

I would think using a gift card at a nice restaurant on date 1 or 2 would make you look fiscally responsible, which is always desirable. That may just be me, though.
This will be very late, so I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but I essentially got people in Chicago to join by first promoting I made the GroupMe almost as soon as the Worst Stories from the Weekend thread posted. It would probably be best to let people know about it in that or a similarly widely read column, which will in turn lead people to the reddit thread.
The subreddit has had multiple discussions and links to GroupMes for various cities. A compendium of the groups for each city, and potentially by profession even, could be a good idea.
I’m actually very curious about the age demographic breakdowns. I’ve been reading the site since 2013, and as has been mentioned in the past, it’s seemed to grow up along with us. Although more articles for the late 20s early 30s crowd is always appreciated.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m 27 and feel no closer to being an adult than I did 5 years ago. I don’t think anyone ever feels like they fully grew up.
Last year, I downloaded Pokemon Yellow on my 3DS, and played it in Spanish. Probably makes me very much a Supernerd, but it’s such a great way to practice learning a language.
Great column. As stressful as my job can be sometimes, remembering my experience working in food service for 4 years during college always helps put things in perspective.
Casual iPhone X drop in the last entry.

Trying to look at any Dalí and other Surrealism paintings while hungover would quite the experience.

Board game nights are a very underrated way to have a great night for cheap. Especially if you have Catan or Ticket to Ride.
I gave a weird look just looking at that phrase. Needed to Urban Dictionary that
Black coffee is actually pretty great, once you get used to it.
I really didn’t think it could get worse than anti-vaxxers and anti-GMO. Yet here we are.

That’d be a good time to update the ol’ resume.
