Unfortunately from my experience this approach seems to be more socially acceptable for men than for women. That hasn’t stopped me from being honest when I don’t want to be around people though. I’d rather be called a bitch than be miserable.
Spent the whole weekend volunteering at a holiday shopping market as a fundraiser for children’s literacy. Hopefully that’s enough to earn me karma points before I embark on what will probably be one of my trashiest Thanksgiving weeks yet.
My employer covers 60% of mine and I’m still paying about $180 a month, but I opted for the “Cadillac” insurance option this year so I’m basically covered for anything and have no deductible.
If you had to get off on the tarmac it sounds like you made a shitty choice in your airline and that’s not DCA’s fault. For anyone living in or visiting DC it’s common knowledge that DCA is the best choice.
And if you absolutely don’t have time then you should be asking the host ahead of time what else you can bring that will contribute to the day: plates, cups, utensils, napkins, tablecloths, games, etc. Effort doesn’t necessarily mean you have to spend a ton of time.
Gonna disagree on the “just bring booze instead of food” thing. Everyone should be bringing at least one or two bottles of wine to Friendsgiving to begin with so you can put in the minimal effort required to make a simple side, tossed salad, or dessert.
The thing that scares me most about an accidental pregnancy is that by the time I realized I was pregnant that baby would most definitely have fetal alcohol syndrome.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who threw up in bed this weekend.
Tread carefully. My Christmas 2015 HTHU resulted in a 6 month long distance relationship that I had no business being in.
Or you could just hide your Insta story from all your family members and avoid taking responsibility for your actions.

Ok yeah going for honeymoons is weird but why all the hate on Disney movies? What’s wrong with a little nostalgia? Also theme parks are awesome.
You’re comparing apples and oranges. SAV had about 2 million passengers in 2016, BUR had 3.8 million… DCA had nearly 24 million…
Do you think you’re impressing people with how many airports you’ve flown through?

If you’re a govt worker there are plenty of unoccupied offices where you can nap fo’ free.
No we just drink a lot.

If you’re walking or taking any form of public transportation then headphones are a must.
