Good take on the bar scene here. Been in Louisville since July, so wasn’t a resident for last year’s Derby. Looking forward to this infield experience that I continuously hear so much about.
Late to the party on this but any of you from Wisconsin or surrounding states know it doesn’t get any better than Spotted Cow. Nectar of the gods. Hands down best beer I’ve ever had in my life.
I like to play a game where I play the last episode of HIMYM and try to fall asleep before it’s over so I don’t have to relive how shitty the ending was.
Nice to see some fellow state supporters on here. After what I saw in KC last weekend, if ISU makes the Sweet 16, Sprint Center will turn into Hilton South once again. FU KU
Reasons why you’re wrong from another DSM resident-
-Plenty of young people, go to Court Ave or West Glen any weekend night and find this out for yourself. Des Moines has ranked #1 for young professionals for a reason.
-Rent compared to bigger Midwestern cities is much much cheaper.
-Expand your horizons on the bars. Johnny’s, Beer Can Alley, The Exchange, Mickey’s, are all a lot of fun- not to mention when Farmer’s Market is on Court Ave in the summer the Court bars make for excellent patio drinking
-Expand your horizons on the brunch spots as well. Not sure if Americana is the “literally 1 brunch place” you’re referring to but if not, give it a try. Vivians is great too
-Des Moines Parks & Recreation offers adult sports leagues
-As for street plowing and Iowa sucking, I can’t put up as big of an argument because snow in general is miserable here.
Will day 3 come tomorrow or even come at all? Bachelorette party was only two days. Gonna be a huge Cinderella story if Chronicles of Todd pulls through with day 3
I fundamentally don’t understand how 0% of the countless cliffhangers never get answered in detail as to explain what everyone is left wondering week in and week out
I lived in Dallas uptown area for 6 months after I graduated college and could not have had a better experience. I was really upset when I eventually had to relocate. Hell of a city with a great bar scene/lots of young professionals/no fucking snow
