I saw “the hills have eyes” when I was maybe 16 years old and it still haunts me to this day. Some of the scenes have yet to leave my head. Same with Hostel
Definitely appreciate this take as a resident of [A Medium Sized Midwest City]. As cool as it would be to live in a place like Denver, Boston, Chicago, etc., I have to step back and appreciate that I have an awesome job, friends and family, super low cost of living, and cool things to do in the are if I put in the minimum effort to find them. All about your attitude and perspective
Ever since I spent hours on outlines in law school, I developed a habit of hitting ctrl + s after every sentence or pause in typing. It’s second nature at this point and it’s saved my ass a few times now.
So sorry about your loss, and same to those who are leaving comments about their loss and those who don’t and are keeping it private. Hits close to home. I too lost my dad, and he was also an avid record collector. After 13 years, it doesn’t necessarily get easier, just different. Hearing about other people’s strength in dealing with it really helps keep life in perspective.
Crick’s breakdowns, TGDAG, and articles by Duda and CMV are my must reads on the site. I think the common thread among those is high quality writing. Love the site and am looking forward to more great things!
I was in this same position – went on a date with a guy and it was fine, he was a great guy but there wasn’t exactly that *spark*. Explained to friends that it felt like something was missing, and they convinced me to go on a second date. That feeling didn’t change, and that was that. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut instinct!
Check his Twitter—he’s posted a recap independently
They’ve really upped their advertising this year, too. It’s very, dare I say, ~~spooky~~.

Feeling very nostalgic for my high school sense of humor. Special mentions: Dodgeball and Superbad.

First date in literal months, going despite the snow-mageddon in my area.
I slid into a guy’s DMs after drunkenly adding them on Facebook the day after very briefly meeting. Was successful and 10/10 would do it again.
Beach days done right: Screwdrivers in the morning. Mich ultra and margs in the afternoon. Nap. More margs.

Thank you for this! Side note, we really need a CMV mailbag.

With you on GOT. It feels too late to get into at this point.
I agree about AHS. This past season was really good, especially compared to the nonsense that was Roanoke.
