I can enact my challenge now. They have 4 days in the bank so the next time they do a live blog I’m buying four beers. If we don’t get another by Friday, that’s it though. One picture, one beer. It’s all about that motivation
There was a book I once read called the E-Myth (highly recommend it if you’re any bit entrepreneurial). One of the things it talked about for why businesses suffer over time is the expectations of its consumers. If I go to a place for a $20 haircut, and I get a cut, straight edge cleanup, a back rub, hot towel, and my hair styled, I leave very impressed and think I got way too much for $20. After a few times though, I may or may not get everything unless I ask, or they stop doing certain things altogether. I still get a great haircut for a fair price, but I have a sense of let down because the expectation was set and it isn’t the same anymore. The majority of consumers feel an irrational sense of betrayal and leave for competitors even if they also charge $20 for a good haircut.
TL:DR. Grandex set the expectation to come to their app and see articles, pictures, and wall posts. Why is there a lack of consistency? Something internal and/or lack of accountability is my guess.
Alright, I check this at least 6x day at work and have a strange sense of disgust and frustration over a lack of new pictures. I’ll put my money where my mouth is. If PGP will put up a picture a day, I will match each picture day for a beer on the defries live blog days. Seven a week (some of us work weekends so why not you too for free beer) and I will buy 365 drinks for a picture a day. Challenge…..
I stand by it. The cars are overrated and their financials don’t support their growth. Don’t know what the post grad equivalent of NF would be, but sub that in I guess
Can’t tell if it’s being ironic or not, but Sugar Land is one of the larger Houston suburbs and was definitely not named after the band… Fun fact: Imperial Sugar was based here and promoted the city as, “Sugar Land, there is no Equal”
File a workers comp claim, even if it’s been six years. Has nothing to do with the manager or your health insurance. I’m surprised Maggianos didn’t do this for you honestly.
Some push it on to their marketing reps, some have their underwriters do it all. The bigger carriers like travelers, Zurich etc have underwriting teams where the entry level person won’t be going out. Im on the broker side and every carrier sets it all up differently.
Topical time to make my username yesterday. Personal lines is ok but it takes a lot of volume to make any money, and you have to own the agency realistically. Driverless cars make it hard to project long term potential. Heavy commercial lines you can make a lot lot of money, but you have to be willing to work really hard, know the right people, and be willing to cold call. Working for a carrier in underwriting is great. Solid pay and advancement, job security, every day can be something new. Plus, eventually you can work from home and get a corporate card to buy brokers free drinks and food.
Boom! New pictures again!

Off topic. Can you enlighten us on the comment revolt going on over at TFM?
