This is so upsetting. I’ve been an avid reader for years and have found so many articles relatable. I check the site multiple times a day for new content and have loved TGDAG and Getting Back in the Game. Was so sad after the first round of layoffs and now this? 🙁
Lost my baby very suddenly two and a half years ago at the age of 9. She was with me my entire 20s, my one constant in a different state from all my friends and family. She saw me through tons of heartbreaks and homesickness. I miss her and think of her every single day. Although my husband and I have two other dogs, there will never be another like her.
Forgot to mention, the lawyer I met with is a long time friend of my husband (a former attorney in a different area of law.) That’s why he was speaking in non PC talk to me, lol.
Boss situation- everyone else has suggested running to an attorney. I consulted one when I was fired from a large mortgage company that was essentially a religious cult and I didn’t drink the Kool aid. The lawyer told me unless I had something concrete like an email explicating calling out my different faith (or lack of faith), there wasn’t much of a point. He shot me straight and said being a white Christian female and not Muslim wouldn’t do me any favors. I realize we’re talking about a different kind of harassment or discrimination here, but his point was that any kind of hostile work environment is incredibly hard to prove without concrete evidence. Oh, and I had been documenting things on my own for months and was told it’s a case of he said she said and that wouldn’t matter.
Just something to think about before you potentially waste a lot of money.
I work in recruiting for Bank of America and yeah, a VP title pretty much means nothing. And I say that as someone with a VP title. Corporate titles do not come with a pay raise unless you move up a band level, but for some reason people get REALLY hung up on corporate titles.
Our coffee table and entertainment center is from there, as well as two couches in our movie room. The couches are big enough for two adults to sleep in while sprawled out and we paid $1800 for both. Not bad at all!
Tequila- blacking out in the pool on the first day of spring break in Acapulco, passed out for hours, tried to go out for the night and threw up on the sidewalk outside the club. Rough times.
Ehhhh I don’t know. I had a hell of a time with it in my college days and several years post grad (much less often than in college.) I found that by around age 25ish most of my friends had outgrown it, except on certain special occasions.
Our club is very family friendly but still has a men’s grill that women do not have access to. Doesn’t bother me. Also, women can hold the primary membership just as easily as men can. But in most cases the men are the breadwinners and therefore membership is in their name, and wife and kids are secondary members. Also makes it easier in the case of divorce so you don’t have two ex spouses running around the same club – primary member keeps the membership, ex spouse must join separately.
Right? What’s wrong with making a little effort? I’d never show up in jeans to our club (nor would I be allowed to, our dress code is not “strict” but we definitely have a no denim rule.)
That guy seems like a huge douche who is forgetting he was 50 lbs overweight just 6 months ago. All of a sudden he’s Mr. Fitness and has to oversee his not-even-girlfriend’s diet and fitness regime?
Also, weight fluctuates. Since college I’ve gotten as small as a size 2 and as big as an almost 8. If I start approaching 8 territory, I know it’s time to do something about it. I don’t know any girls who have completely let themselves go and gain 100 lbs or something, but a 20 lb range seems normal to me.
I cannot imagine going to a suitcase school. I unknowingly toured one of these when checking out colleges and the second the guide mentioned it was a suitcase school, it was ruled out for me. I’m sad for those people who missed out on an amazing college experience.

Everyone in that state is nice. Had a blast visiting a friend who went to NDSU.
Thank you. I follow a 33 year old blogger and mom of 2 who thinks this is sooo cute and makes her a cool, funny mom. It’s horrible.
My wedding reception was at the Belvedere, after party at the owl bar. Great spot.

I don’t think a junk drawer is just a Midwest thing. I grew up in MD and live in the south now, have always had a junk drawer. I actually have 2 now.

You’re missing out. Amazing TV.

Cash bars are awful. Not as awful as dry weddings, but awful. The very least that needs to be offered for free is beer and wine.
Not to mention you’re only 23. No need to push to save a 6 month relationship at that age when you have vastly different opinions about big things.

I seriously cannot fathom this happening. You never once brought it up to your wife in person, even to say “I can’t wait for vacation”?
