I work in front office IB in New York. The vests is accurate and I have a company logo baseball on my desk which I suppose is close enough. I don’t think Flash Dancers has a lunch special, though, and honestly I eat at my computer. Not a coffee guy either.
Nope, where I grew up in the midwest Lightning was once you’re out you’re out, and Thunder allowed you to come back in if the person who got you out got out.
They still didn’t control for field of study which is a huge contributing factor. Over 75% of STEM degrees are going to men right now, and fields like women’s studies and sociology have over 70% female graduates. It also doesn’t account for the (scientifically verified) fact that women on average are less likely to negotiate for pay raises as much as men. Those two factors would probably explain most of the remaining 5%.
My favorite question, though, when talking about the so-called pay gap, is that if women are still, after all of this, getting paid less for doing the same job with the same education and experience level and qualifications, why haven’t a lot of smart CEO’s just started hiring all women? They demand less salary in the market, right? By 20-25% say the outraged class! There are plenty of CEO’s that would love to save that kind of money on payroll expenses and there are more than enough qualified women in the workforce. The answer boils down to the fact that they don’t do it because the pay gap is largely not there when everything is controlled for.
Which just goes to show how fucking lazy this PGP article is. The level of thinking didn’t even get critical enough to consider how wildly absurd the claim is that people today are making nominally the same amount that they did in 1984, let alone actually go read the source material that clearly states the use of inflation adjusted figures.
The numbers your linked Jezebel article is referencing are all inflation adjusted, which you can clearly see if you actually go look at the first note on figure 1 of the study (https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/economy/report/2016/03/03/131627/when-i-was-your-age/). Jezebel didn’t bother mentioning this crucial fact though, because it’s a shit website. Don’t source it.
Come on, Will. Labor Day is beautiful. The alma mater is 1-0, spirits are high, and I know I can coast till thanksgiving reading SBNation and my homer blog at work with constant new content.
The real estate company’s are REIT’s so they aren’t required to pay taxes to the government but are required to pay out 90% of taxable income to shareholders via dividends annually. Many of the other firms have booked huge losses in the recent past and accrued tax credits that way, combined with other legal tax avoidance techniques. There’s nothing wrong with this, however I’m sure the sensationalists will have a field day.

He’s on a roll just let him go.
Don’t say “mimos”.
Well that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Would you like some cries with that whaamburger?
How many GMOs does it take to kill a hipster Will?
Carell was the most anti-Wall Street guy in that entire movie.
I wouldn’t worry about that. The only other real threat for best actor besides Leo is Fassbender.
I honestly said “Oh my god” out loud when I read the title.

Somebody went to Kansas.
Yeah but really it’s because if I marry one my kids will have a better chance at being good at sports.
