I’m not convinced she’ll say yes. Remember how she freaked out when perusing rings with Caroline? Very reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw breaking out in a rash while trying on wedding dresses. I seriously hate myself for remembering both of these moments.

“…Todd began to think about the absurdity of trying to find a show on television that is so boring that you literally will fall asleep watching it. The concept of giving yourself the most baseline entertainment you can think of with the sole purpose of not finishing it was lost on him.”

This sounds like a metaphor for Todd and Girl’s relationship. Girl is basic and boring (even if she is batsh*t crazy). Todd doesn’t want to propose. Every day is a repeat of Friends, The Office, etc.

My college bf had a Cory-esque fall jacket — forest green canvas with a brown corduroy collar. I still remember the first time I saw him wearing it and thought it made him look 200% more attractive/snuggly/warm. Quintessential fall apparel. JFC…sappy for a Tuesday.

Your grandmother and my grandmother would have liked each other. Mine used to drink straight vodka on ice with olives. She was so much fun to get drunk with. After one or two drinks, she’d start telling ridiculous stories from her younger days. Who knows how many were true, but it was so entertaining.

To the guy who’s away for long periods of time: sup?
In all seriousness, it’s difficult to find a partner who is on the same page with that work schedule. I’m somewhat in the same situation with my job — gone for a month, home for a month or two, gone for a month, etc. My ex-husband and every man I’ve dated since then had issues with this (and they all eventually cheated), but I love my job and my coworkers. I have to keep reminding myself that just because a handful of people can’t deal with a long distance relationship doesn’t mean that everyone will be that way.
