The Bar Tab From This Maryland Fishing Tournament Probably Caused Some Hungover Regret

What’s been the biggest bar tab of your drinking career? For me, it was a fateful night that put me back a pair of Ben Franklins, a night in the Denver Health Center, and a story I might share one day.

However, that’s nothing compared to what a few anglers from the White Marlin Open reeled in this past Saturday at Ocean City, Maryland’s Sunset Grille.

Now, for those of you that don’t know, the White Marlin Open is a pretty big fishing tournament held annually each summer in Ocean City, Maryland. Many of these crews fishing for the chance to land trophy fish that could earn them some serious bills, and I’m not just taking bill-fish (hey-oh!). In 2015, the tournament paid out $3.9 million in prize money.

But, so far, this tab has been the biggest haul of the tournament.

With this tab weighing in over $20K, this impressive bar feat surely landed the crew of Goin’ In Deep an impressive hangover.

The biggest items included an absurd amount of champagne totaling in at $18,125 worth of bubbly, over 40 shots of a combination of Tito’s vodka and highly underrated green tea shots, and one asshole who ordered a single Mich Ultra for $6. The champagne alone is a ridiculous amount that probably has noted champagne lover and bean hater, Will deFries, ready to clock out for a Tuesday Brut champagne binge.

That being said, best of luck to the crew of Goin’ In Deep in this week’s tournament. Here’s to hoping you at least break even.

Cheers.
