Historically, fans from Philadelphia are known for being a rowdy bunch. From the holding cells in Veterans Stadium to snowballs being thrown at Santa, it’s no surprise Philly fans have a wild reputation. Last night proved to be no different.
In the sixth inning, umpire Bob Davidson ejected a fan for allegedly yelling out “You suck!” like Donald from Happy Gilmore on steroids.
I say on steroids because this fan was ejected from the 14th row. This guy was yelling so loud that the home plate umpire not only halted a MLB game, but also took the time to eject him from 14 rows up.
Here’s a video of what went down in the stands.
I’m shocked that the umpire took the time to eject the fan. And although full details still haven’t been reported, that didn’t stop other people on twitter from chiming in.
Apparently.
Meanwhile in the world of hockey, chanting “You Suck” in the Prudential Center is encouraged.
The fan was allegedly saying worse things.
