I have this repulsively vivid memory in my head of playing golf with my buddy “Kev” several summers ago at Barton Creek Country Club in Austin. It was a balmy 95+ degrees and humid outside that day, sun beating down on us, and Kev has a bit of what we’ll call a perspiration problem. By hole two, he was drenched. The big, circular wet spot around his pits, lower back spotting, sweat line creeping in on his high crown visor. The guy was a mess.
He also had on white shorts that day. These weren’t tech material shorts, though. They weren’t light weight, nor breathable, and they certainly weren’t moisture wicking. They were thick, heavy, cotton shorts. And, like I said, they were white.
By hole six, the wetness had migrated south and engulfed most of his white shorts. He progressively became visibly uncomfortable with every swing of the club, stroll from cart to ball, back to cart, and cart to green. I don’t how it happened the way it did, but on the back nine, his white shorts started to change color in the crack region. Like a warm doodoo slushy in his drawers, the abundance of sweat and lack of backdoor cleanliness became apparent.
Kev was ill-prepared for moisture wicking szn. Don’t be like Kev.

‘Patton’ Stretch American Denim Jeans by Mizzen and Main
Per Grandex fashion guy Barrett Dudley, never go to dinner in shorts, no matter the temperature outside..
Honest question for you Grandex folks. I get that these are high quality items and you’re not in the business of endorsing products you wouldn’t use yourself and I own items from these brands as well because I like nice things too. But, $65 t-shirts and $80 shorts? What sort of extra employee discount are you guys getting or are you guys making way more money than I thought?
Promo code Sock
If you just pay the minimum, your credit card debt will pay itself off eventually.
I’ll buy $85 shorts when me shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert, Dorn
I can’t imagine being in a tax bracket where you can be cool with spending that kind of money on a t shirt. Just unfathomable to me to be either A) that well off or B) that stupid
$69 tees. Doesn’t get any “nicer” than that!
Also wtf about that $145 dress shirt? That’s at least twice the cost of a Brooks Brothers shirt.
I assume they get a decent discount (20-25%) or possibly receive some sort of merchandise credit each month depending on how much they are able to sell.
So I grabbed a few of the mizzen&main dress shirts when they went on sale for around $60 and I can attest to how amazing they are. If I had to wear dress shirts 5 days a week, I’d probably buy a few at full price. Very hard to wear a traditional dress shirt after one of those. Plus, Lefty wore one yesterday.
I second this Hodge. Scoop up a few when they go on sale for $60-$80. No need for tailoring because they are already slim fit. Well worth it.
I figured they received a pretty decent discount like that and the merchandise credit certainly makes sense.
It is currently 40F here, with snow in the forecast tomorrow.
No, it is not yet moisture-wicking szn.
Move south
lol lululemon is cheaper than most of this stuff
and also more comfortable
Whenever I see someone out in the Houston heat with basic cotton on I immediately assume they are psychotic or an idiot
Meanwhile the Indians home opener should be a swealtering 45 degrees.
Lol they posted a pic on social media of how nice looking it is in Cleveland right now. They managed to “forget” the temperature.
I will be drinking as many Miller Lites as it takes to forget the temperature tomorrow.
Roll Tribe though
Checked my watch today and it shows that it’s tribe time.
I feel you. Supposed to be rain/snow for the Rockies home opener tomorrow.
Never eat dinner in shorts? Sounds like Mediocre Dudley is lying to himself about how hot it gets in the summer. Very unfair!
“Never go to dinner in shorts, no matter the temperature outside.”
Amen to that
I can’t take anything Barret says serious anymore after seeing him in geriatric Balenciagas.
He tweeted yesterday that he didn’t like BBQ and I lost all respect for him.
He seems like the person that bases his food preferences on “messiness.”
A Don doesn’t wear shorts
It’s always moisture wicking szn for me nawmean
