As bad as everyone says 2016 was, it did give us one thing. The return of Eldrick Tiger Woods. Earlier this month, Tiger made his return to professional golf after an almost two year break at the Hero World Challenge, and while there was definitely still some work to be done, his swing looked in control, he looked confident, and, most importantly, he looked healthy enough to compete in 2017.
Big Cat turns 41 today, and since I doubt any of you got invited to celebrate with him and Jeets doing God knows whatever it is you do when you’re damn near a billionaire on your birthday, do the next best thing and tune into the 15 hour marathon Golf Channel has running of all his major highlights. Relive all the greatness Tiger’s given us over the past 20 years. Every fist pump, all the club twirls, the icy stares, every time he made a Sunday run and snatched any hopes of victory out of Sergio’s hands. Some of them might even be new to you because you were too hungover to remember what the hell was going on when you were watching it live.
Burning a day of however much PTO you might have been saving is definitely worth vegging out on your couch to spend the day watching Tiger stalk 14 major championships. If you’ve started your NYE weekend early, tell your spouse those plans are going to have to wait till tomorrow; hopefully, she’s as understanding as mine and will be glued to the TV right next to you. .

I’m sure Tiger is the reason a lot of us got interested in golf when we were growing up, and because of that, I usually pull for him. But I don’t see him recovering from “Mac Daddy Santa”.
That photo was a power move and there’s just no other way to look at it.
Let me get you some oven mitts for that take
I’ve always liked Tiger in small doses. Long story short, I’m a Phil fan, and always will be, but that marathon just started recording at the hacienda.
Side bar: Reed v. Rory replay tonight on Golf Channel. That’s all I need to say.
Phil is the real life Shooter McGavin
Except Phil is a good guy, and though I rooted for Shooter to beat that shit stain on the game Gilmore, Shooter was an asshole. Plus Phil doesn’t win enough to be on Shooter’s level
It did GIVE us* don’t mean to be that guy.
Damn, as an English major, I’m ashamed. Thanks Jesus, you’ve always got my back
that’s on me.
Being excited for anything related to Tiger is like being excited about Tony Romo. It was great while it lasted, but it’s over. If I wanted to reminisce on the glory days, I’d think about that one time a milf hit on me for a few minutes before she realized I was the wrong guy.
Tony Romo was never great.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I couldn’t give less of a shit about Tiger since he cheated on his wife and all that. Maybe I’m just salty from personal experience, but there are many more deserving golfers to root for. Plus he’s washed up, let’s be honest he’ll never actually compete on day 4 again.
How much would you be willing to wager on that last sentence? He’ll win at least one more major and if you don’t think he can snag another handful of wins out, I’ll gladly take your money on that opinion.
I agree, I’ll throw in on this. No way Tiger doesn’t get at least one more major
