Sometimes team-building goes a little too far.
A group of HSBC employees are looking for employment after posting an ISIS-style mock execution video on Instagram for some reason. According to The Sun, the employees, from the bank’s legal division, were in the middle of a “team-building exercise” when things got weird.
HSBC issued this response:
Once we saw this abhorrent video released by @TheSun we took the decision to sack the individuals involved. We apologise for any offence.

So that’s HSBC’s legal team? A bank that big is supposed to employ the brightest legal minds to deal with international banking regulations and complex banking systems that the rest of us can’t even begin to comprehend. This is less than comforting.
No word yet on what this “team-building” exercise entailed, or how the wheels came flying off so quickly. This is the problem with team-building: It’s always lame, and sometimes, it’s so lame that your employees decide to start fake beheading each other. Whatever happened to going to happy hour and talking just talking shit about the coworkers who didn’t show?.

“I don’t know if this is such a good idea guys…”
-“Shut up Steve! Everyone is going to think we’re hilarious”
This just have Michael J. Scott’s fingerprints ALL. OVER. IT.
I did a team building exercise once where we had to build a marshmallow and toothpick tower. part of the exercise was having a pretend “manager” come in and destroy it (idk what the fuck the point of that was).
I wanted to cut his fucking head off for smashing my sugar/wood master piece. I imagine that this video had a similar build-up leading to the recorded events shown here…
