Like any good young adult, I truly love a good food and bev festival. Give me a wristband and a fork, and I’ll walk around sampling my region’s finest cuisine until I’ve expanded my stomach to post-Thanksgiving levels of fullness. Of course, the only bad thing about these festivals, whether they involve tapas, beer, or food trucks, is that they only exist for a weekend and you’re stuck eating at regular restaurants for the next 51 weekends of the year because life isn’t fair. However, if you’re looking to use up some of that PTO you’ve been collecting on a trip to Italy, you can head on over to Bologna and experience Eataly World, a food theme park that’s basically a permanent version of your weekend foodie fest on steroids.
Sign me up.
While at first glance it may seem that the best thing about Eataly is its dad pun name, that’s honestly only the beginning. Eataly World will cover 20 acres and provide everything you can possibly imagine. Looking for fresh farm-to-table food? No worries, there are farms and pastures on site, so you’re guaranteed the freshest food available. Drag your boyfriend to take pictures while picking fresh produce from an orchard? Check. Of course, you’ll want to eat while you’re there, so wander into any of Eataly’s 25 restaurants for a great meal. In between gorging yourself, you can shop for food and wares to take home with you, or go into the 40 workshops scattered throughout that will educate you on Italy’s fine cuisine and show you how fresh wine, beer, cheese, pasta, and sauce are made.
Sorry DisneyWorld, but it sounds like Eataly might actually be the happiest place on Earth. You have a bit of time to save up the money and vacation days you’re definitely going to blow here, because Eataly World won’t be open until fall 2017, but this is a trip you won’t want to miss. If you wait until 2018, you’ll be able to stay on site (and presumably eat even more) in the Eataly Hotel. Fingers crossed that 2019’s announcement will be that Eataly will begin selling condos. Two weeks’ notice and early retirement have officially never sounded so sweet..

Saying “young adults” instead of “millennials,” good job.
Why are girls so obsessed with food
Because they’re constantly dieting.
Isn’t a good theme park basically a grocery store?
*food theme park
It is when you drunk shop
Let me introduce you to http://junglejims.com/ AKA my happy place. 6.5 acres of 4000 kinds of beer, 15,000 kinds of wine, a walk in humidor, international foods sectioned off by region, and you can drink while you shop. I’ve spent a lot of time and money there.
Darn I really thought this would turn into “Top 12 Cities for Millennials who consider themselves Foodies.”
O/U: 3.5 on the number of defibrillators per floor inside the Eately Hotel?
The real question is, will there be any food themed roller coasters?
There’s actually a place called Eataly in Chicago! It has different groceries/restaurants/cafes/even a cooking school in it. It’s pretty rad
I agree it is a pretty cool place just don’t ever use the word “Rad” in public again please…
