What a weekend. I spent the weekend recovering from this ridiculous cold, while a bunch of you were listening to best-of episode of my podcast with JR Hickey, Don’t Take It From Us, on Grandex Labs. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those that listened – we super appreciate it, and hopefully it made your weekend a little better. Or at least better than these people’s.
Snapchat
There’s a lot of things that can cause a business to lose value. An out-of-date product, bad press, some kind of recall. But when all it takes is one tweet from a KarJenner? Maybe you need to rethink your business model.
Snapchat stock dropped last week by as much as 7.2%, which equals somewhere around equaling $1.3 billion, following this tweet by new mother Kylie Jenner:
sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.
— Kylie Jenner (@KylieJenner) February 21, 2018
Of course, the drop in stock price may have been due to the general market or Snapchat’s craptastic new format, but let’s be honest: the KarJenners have way more influence than any of us should be comfortable with. [via TMZ]
English Chicken Lovers
Sometimes you just want fried chicken, amirite? Well, if you live in London and that craving hit you this week, you were crap out of luck, as that most of the KFC locations in England were closed due to a chicken shortage.
The Colonel’s company apparently switched to a new chicken vendor in the UK and some distribution snafus resulted in restaurants not having any product to sell. On the upside…the company continued to pay employees during the closures and they took out perhaps the most brilliant full-page ad of all time:
KFC's 'our bad' ad is brilliant. pic.twitter.com/CHFU5HDcrO

Most of the restaurants are now back open, albeit with limited menus, which begs a most important question: do they have the biscuits? [via CNN]
Britney Spears
Who’s the superstar that had a bad weekend? It’s Britney, bitch. And it’s all due to her ex-husband.
Kevin Federline and Britney Spears were married from 2004 and 2007 and share sons Jayden and Preston. Federline currently receives $20,000 from Spears a month in child support, which should probably be more than adequate. But since Spears earned more than $137 million during her recent four-year Las Vegas run, Federline has decided he wants an increase.
In fact, Federline claims that he deserves the money due to her success, with a source saying he “recognize the sacrifices he has made because he has gone above and beyond what most people would do in this situation.” His attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has sent a letter to Spears’ team which explained the reasons they believe his client should receive an increase in support, and each side’s lawyers will meet soon in an effort to resolve the issue before it winds up in court. So we’ll see if Federline winds up with a piece of that “Piece of Me” cash. [via US Magazine]
Teresa Stadlober
I don’t have a lot of skills or talents, but a strong sense of direction is actually of them. So I’d like to think that I would have fared a little better than Austrian cross-country skier Stadlober if I was competing in the Winter Olympics (and had ever learned to ski).
Stadlober was on pace to win a silver medal in Sunday’s 30-kilometer race when she veered right when she was supposed to go left. When Stadlober was able to get back on course, she had fallen to 8th place and wound up finishing 9th.
The Austrian commented on the mishap, saying, “I don’t know why I took the wrong way. I’m really sad and disappointed that it has happened today because I had a really good day. My shape is good. I know in classic I can make a good race and I also had really good skis. Before I took the wrong way I thought I could fight for a medal.”
Yet another person felled by a wrong turn. Thank god for GPS. [via New York Post]
Neymar
As I’ve said before, I don’t know much about soccer, but even I know who Neymar is. And I also know that it’s a big deal with he went down with an injury over the weekend.
The Brazilian player for Paris Saint-Germain was injured in the 76th minute of their game against Marseille on Sunday. It looked as though Neymar landed awkwardly on his ankle after colliding with Marseille midfielder Bouna Sarr. After the collision, the 26-year-old was carried off the field while holding his head in his hands.
Depending on the injury, this could spell trouble for Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a £200 million deal last summer (making him the world’s most expensive player) and his team, who are battling for standing in the Champions League. I don’t know exactly what that means, but it doesn’t sound good. [via Metro] .

K-Fed had Brittney in her prime and is still cashing checks for six figs a year off her, #winning
Federline make 240k a year because he slept with Britney Spears? I’ve done this who life thing wrong.
Twice. Without condoms.
“John Style”
Damn I wish I shorted Snapchat before that tweet.
As a financial advisor, re: Snapchat and KJ, all I can say is wow. We know when Warren Buffett and Carl Icahn speak, markets listen. But Kylie Jenner? Jesus Christ burn it down. Burn it all down.
I subbed to the podcast, Jenna
You’re welcome
KFC chicken-good.
KFC biscuits-garbage, an insult to biscuits to call that hockey puck of flour and salt a biscuit.
Fuck you for using “hockey puck” as an insult.
