It’s Masters Week and although John Daly won’t be competing in this year’s tournament (he’s going to be in Augusta. At Hooters. Really), he’s letting everyone know he is the master of nicotine and caffeine. In an interview with The Guardian, Daly talks about the well documented mistakes he’s made in his life and how he’s changed in the last 23 years since taking the PGA Tour by storm at the 1991 PGA Championship.
What would you say is a fair amount of Diet Coke consumption? I’d say 3-4 a day. One in the morning, one during/after lunch and then one in the afternoon. Daly claims that he drinks 10-12 DCs a day.
That doesn’t impress you? Okay. Then what would you say is a fair amount of nicotine consumption a day? 5-7 cigarettes or 3-4 plugs of chewing tobacco? Daly says he smokes 40 cigs a day. FORTY.
The most absurd part of all this? Daly’s cut back on his Diet Coke consumption. At one point, he was consuming 25-28 cans of Diet Coke a day. That’s just an estimate though, considering Daly takes his DC out of a cup with ice. I like to picture him toting around one of those massive 80-ounce thermos coolies from QuikTrip, just full to the brim with Diet Coke.
Respect.

This is the part where some guy in the office mentions he totally doesn’t drink soda, and did you know that diet is actually worse for you than regular?
Shut the fuck up, guy.
My friend is a doctor at a hospital in Augusta. I’ve prepared him for the fact that he may meet John Daly this weekend.
40 cigs and a 12 pack of DC… I’d guess five poops a day, minimum.
