Sometimes, we often forget the kind of impact our teachers had on us as kids. Obviously, most of them were either pretty “meh” or just terrible teachers, but I think we can all agree that no matter who you are, we all had at least one teacher that had a positive impact on our lives.
That was never more apparent than in this letter from a West Mesquite High School student to her Algebra teacher in Mesquite, TX, a suburb just east of Dallas:
The student’s name is 16-year-old Shayla Godbey and her algebra teacher is Jennifer Davis, who has been teaching in the DFW area for four years after spending some time overseas, teaching English in South Korea.
