I have no plans for tonight as of right now, but that could certainly change. I’d be down for dinner maybe, something lowkey. I want to be fresh tomorrow because I have an absolute day planned. I’m talking gym sesh, laying by the pool, happy hour at my dear friend Ross Bolen’s new crib, then dinner. There’s some chatter about hitting the bars afterward, too.
My Sunday is wide open. I might convince the squad to step out at some point.
Listen to us discuss our weekends in fun on this week’s Touching Base.
What are you doing for fun this weekend?.

In a wedding party in South Dakota. Took an RV on a 12 hour road trip instead of flying. From now on I EXCLUSIVELY travel by RV.
People need to know that renting an RV is a certifiably great experience. Spread the word
My grandfather died 2 weeks ago so spending the weekend with my dad to make him feel less lonely. About to break some stuff in my apartment later so he can come fix it and feel helpful.
Sorry for your loss
Going to a non-alcoholic bachelorette party. Help.
So … what the fuck are y’all doing?
Dinner and a paint and sip…but without the sip….
Why is it non-alcoholic? Underage attendees? Religion?
A deep hatred of all things fun?
Honestly, no valid reason?? This girl was one of my closest friends in college and she could pound beers better than most. But now she doesn’t drink so I guess none of us drink?
And no, she didn’t give it up due to alcoholism or a medical issue. She literally just stopped.
I understand the feeling. My sister wants to have a dry wedding bc she doesn’t drink, but doesn’t understand the rest of her friends and family do drink
I’ve been to a dry wedding. It’s terrible. Convince her to have a cash bar of beer and wine at the minimum. Otherwise everyone is going to keep going to the parking lot to sneak drinks from their cars and people you’ll be lucky if the majority sticks around after dinner to the cake cutting.
I’m trying to convince her to do beer and wine, or give everyone 2 drink tickets. This might be a good question for the PGP Mailbag or touching base
That’s selfish because the only reason people attend weddings is to get drunk for free and look nice while doing it so it makes being blackout seem somewhat classy as an adult. If you think ppl came to you’re wedding because they are happy for you and want to see what Love looks like in person while being bored out of their minds, you are the reason why marriages have above a 50% failure rate lol
I’ve always seen the reception and open bar as a thanks for coming to the guests
No drugs, no alcohol, no cigs.
That sounds almost as bad as a non-alcoholic wedding reception
This is worse than NA reception. At least at the reception you can get away with a flask. Rebecca will absolutely narc to the bride if you try to ruin her last fling before the ring by taking pulls in the bathroom.
But with the bachelorette party, you can find a non-alcoholic activity to do, like a spa day or something similar
Getting paid to drink beer, eat burgers, and be nice to my coworkers this afternoon in the park for our annual picnic. Buddies in town tonight, so heading to the Rooftop at Coors Field to drink some beer and perhaps see a pitch or two. Smoking some chicken tomorrow and doing some gardening. Sunday heading to Red Rocks for Tedeschi Trucks and my all-time favorite Drive-By Truckers. Good weekend? Good weekend.
So jealous you get to see Tedeschi…Susan’s voice is like a mix of Fergie and Jesus..
Enjoy DBT, man, they’re on my bucket list of acts to see.
Seen them probably 15 times and Patterson Hood’s voice is just something unreal every time. Find a show, man. Isbell is also in my top 5 of live acts to catch as often as possible.
Your weekend sounds on point
Great weekend!
Apparently my roommates are throwing a band party in our backyard on Saturday. Don’t really know what type of band plays a random backyard in KC, but I guess I will find out.
See ya there
You’re more then welcome to come, no idea what it will be like but we have beer.
Currently in Frankfurt, Germany. Lost my passport earlier this week and had to come here to pick up a new one earlier today. Was luckily able to get an emergency one so I could take my happy ass back to America next week, currently no plans for the evening, but a plate full of relief. Pro tip; do not lose passport while abroad
Heading to The Big House in Ann Arbor to see Manchester United vs Liverpool. Thankfully Egypt got bounced from the World Cup early, so Mo Salah is actually going to play. Can’t wait.
Thanks for asking as always! My hours have been cut at work. That being said I’ve entered a hotdog eating contest on Sunday! Saturday before work I might get 3 miles in because I’m doing a 5K second Saturday of August
Promised myself I would take it easy this weekend because I’m heading to Colorado next week to throw my best friend a bachelorette party and then stand next to her as MOH in her wedding (her idea to do the bachelorette party right before the wedding, not mine).
Your friend is ballsy AF
I’ve been drinking with her since we were 15. Girl is a tank. She’ll be just fine.
Rehearsal dinner tonight, 9 holes of golf in the morning, then my wedding at 6pm.
Congrats on the marital sex.
Congrats!
