If you’ve ever been to Starbucks, you probably know that their prices can be more than a little absurd. For example, my order this morning of a Venti iced triple skinny caramel latte ran over $6, and those prices are only going up. However, a group of protestors decided that Starbucks is out to get them and is way overfilling their iced drinks with, well, ice. It seems obvious that an iced beverage would need a sufficient amount of ice to keep it cold, but complainers have taken it to a new level, actually initiating a lawsuit over the amount of ice that Starbs fills their drinks with.
The U.S. District Court just ruled on the lawsuit, and unfortunately for the haters, you’ll have to keep paying $6 for all of the ice Starbucks wants to supply. In the words of Judge Percy Anderson, who presided over the case:
“If children have figured out that including ice in a cold beverage decreases the amount of liquid they will receive, the Court has no difficulty concluding that a reasonable consumer would not be deceived into thinking that when they order an iced tea, that the drink they receive will include both ice and tea and that for a given size cup, some portion of the drink will be ice rather than whatever liquid beverage the consumer ordered.”
BURN. Sorry losers, but if you want to keep receiving cold drinks, you’ll have to deal with the fact that you’re getting some ice to, you know, keep your drink cold. Luckily for all of us, the weather’s about to drop, so you’ll soon be able to order your hot drinks in peace, knowing that the only over-priced products you’ll be paying to drink are espresso and skim. .

That response has “I can’t believe I have to deal with this shit” written all over it.
I have been unemployed for three months, and I’m still not bored enough to sue a company over something this petty.
If you’re upset about a few cents worth of coffee/ice, you probably can’t afford to drink Starbucks in the first place.

Yeah I’m not sure what they wanted. Coffee that was proportionally stronger to the amount of ice in a given cup? foh, nobody got time for that. If you want to enjoy an iced dirty chai while it’s 85 outside you gotta make some sacrifices, sometimes life isn’t fair and you have to deal.
Or you could just like, not buy it anymore.
Exactly. I assume they were hoping to snag some gift cards in exchange for dropping it, which I can respect
What the ice cubes worth?
