The highly anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones has been kickass thus far. Wild shit is going down all over the map, and Sunday’s episode was probably the most uplifting and overall positive episode in the history of the show. For those familiar with the work of George R. R. Martin, that’s pretty concerning. He isn’t exactly known for sewing happiness and positivity. If you’re afraid of what’s next in the episodes to come, that’s okay — you should be. But we’re all in this together, and listening to our new GoT podcast, Oysters, Clams & Cockles, will make you feel all better.
Ours is a Game of Thrones podcast for people who party like Tyrion and slay like Daenerys. Click the link below to listen to this week’s episode, where we relive Sunday’s show, talk theories, and make predictions.

See you next week, fam. .
It’s looking more and more like the Grand Northern Conspiracy may come to fruition in some form or another. Jon and Sansa leading the charge to unite the North against the Boltons while Rickon returns to Winterfell under the guise of a prisoner while he’s really there working with the Umbers and to show the northern lords who are there and don’t like the Boltons that they still have a Stark to support. As they say, “there must always be a Stark in Winterfell.”
I have my doubts that Rickon would let Shaggydog buy the farm and spare direwolves aren’t exactly easy to come by.
Yeah, I mean I’m biased because I also want Shaggydog to be alive, but if you’re going to kill a direwolf, make it goddamn clear it’s a direwolf. The prop for Grey Wind’s head wasn’t great but it was damn big:
I agree, which is why I have my doubts that was really Shaggydog.
That head was way too small. Shaggy lives. Probably not much consolation to the mutt with the hook in his skull…
Well, there’s like 100s of Starks buried at Winterfell so regardless…
I emailed in my first crack pot fan theory. Also Regester killed it on the podcast.
Out of curiosity, more or less crackpotty than Jon Snow and Meera Reed being twins?
less.
This is new to me. Where’s this fall on the scale compared to the time traveling fetus?
I mean, it’s certainly an odd theory but there’s some evidence out there you could use to support it.
Pros: She is the same age as Jon (and Robb FWIW), her physical description in the books is very similar to Arya who is said to look like Lyanna (Jon also most closely resembles Arya of the Stark children as well), Ned coming home from the Tower of Joy w/two bastards would be too suspicious so Howland Reed could have taken one baby home to raise as his own (he was the only other survivor at the tower) and he owed Lyanna a debt from the Knight of the Laughing Tree story (look it up) and there’s no better place to hide someone than Greywater Watch, Howland never proposed marrying Meera to Robb unlike all the other Northern lords w/daughters and it neatly fills out the “three heads of the dragon” prophecy. Plus, Meera and Jojen were sent by Howland to find Bran and help him to discover the truth w/the raven so that’s something since Howland is the only other person besides Ned who knew about the Jon/Meera twins from the beginning.
Cons include: Meera has green eyes and no Stark child has green eyes (Jon/Arya’s are gray), twins don’t show up anywhere in any prophecy as far as I know.
Sorry for the long post, but could be a fun twist to the widely accepted R+L=J theory.
That’s not even the wackiest theory that is legitimately plausible I’ve gone into though. Would be cool if the podcast would let us send in our fun theories to talk about.
I thought the fire proof thing was a one-time event. Martin even had said it was since there were dragon eggs the witch and blood magic involved.
I figured it had something to do with the blood magic. Maybe the spell gave her a permanent +20 to Fire Resistance.
Nah there had been multiple instances of her being impervious to heat, dating back to her first appearance on the show when she gets in a scolding hot bath that hasn’t had time to cool and one of her servants tries to stop her out of fear that she’ll be burned, and she gets in totally unfazed and unscathed.
Wonder if that pokes a hole in the R+L=J theory since he got his hand burned early season 1…
Notice how both Jon and Dany have had rebirths naked?
All Targaryens aren’t impervious to fire — only a “true dragon” is impervious to fire. Remember, Viserys thought he was a true dragon, and he was wrong.
Yeah but if we’re being led to believe Jon Snow is really Jon Targaryen and this messiah character the Prince who was Promised or Azor Ahai, you’d think he’d have some fire resistance.
Or maybe it’s because he’s the ice to dany’s Fire.
Yeah, and even real dragons (like actual goddamn dragon animals) got burned up by the extreme heat during the Doom of Valyria (according to the World of Ice and Fire and some anecdotes). Martin is not infallible and none of his words outside of the actual novels should be considered canonical.
Yeah idk this is pretty fucking nerdy
Does anyone know how long Roberts Rebellion lasted?
Almost 6 minute intro??
Yeah, point taken.
Asha’s death did not get the respect she deserved. She was one of my favorite minor characters, and I was excited for her to be a regular again.
