Justice.
It looks like these major league jerks won’t get away with their antics after all. Per Hot 95-7 FM Houston, charges are being pressed:
Now ABC 13 reports, “the Harris County District Attorney’s Office is charging both Vidal Valladares, 24, and Michelle Wycoff, 23, with obstruction of highway, a class b misdemeanor.”
We’ll keep you updated when there are more details on the situation. I’m sure everyone stuck in traffic is feeling pretty good about this now. #Justice
Sure, it’s only a misdemeanor, but still. As the “most hated people in Houston” right now, I’d suggest they keep their head on a swivel next time they go out.

There are a lot of shitty things that you can do when getting engaged — proposing at someone else’s wedding, doing it on Christmas, being that couple on the jumbotron. The list goes on. But this Houston couple just went next-level and made an entire city hate them in one fell swoop.
Just for those of you that don’t know — I-45 in Houston is a fucking nightmare. I’ve been on a schedule of driving it about once a month, and every time I exit, I consider buying a desolate cabin in the northwoods of Canada hoping to never see another human being again. The thought of driving on it makes me want to personally fund autonomous vehicles, so the thought of stepping foot on it and stopping traffic could not be further out of the realm of possibility than it currently is for me.
Without further ado, I present to you recipients of the 2015 Assholes Of The Year Award:
I normally don’t condone people that go rogue on the shoulder of the highway to get around things, but it could not be more warranted than it was Sunday night when this all went down. Me? I’m shocked and amazed that someone didn’t Suge Knight them, especially given how this all went down. Per The Houston Chronicle:
In a video posted on Instagram, Vidal Valladares Navas enlisted his friends to stand in front of lanes of traffic while he proposed to his girlfriend Michelle Wycoff in the middle of the highway near downtown Houston.
This isn’t a romantic gesture. This is insanity. Hey man, if you wanted to do something different, maybe you should’ve thought of something that didn’t piss off the 4th largest city in the nation. I mean, just look at these two.
I’d question this guy’s sanity purely based on this borderline suicidal act, but he’s wearing a white cowl neck fucking sweater in the middle of December so he’s not exactly of sound mind. Like, come on, bro. White after Labor Day? Pull yourself together, man.
She’s since made her Instagram account private for reasons that I have to assume have to do with the Instagram version of receiving hate mail. Luckily, you can view her video here, along with all the idiotic congratulatory comments from her friends.
I’m legitimately pissed she said yes to this guy given his poor decision-making and general lack of self-awareness. Be better, Michelle. .

As a native Houstonian who has contemplated murder, totaled cars, and spent countless hours in a vehicle due to 45, I would have loved nothing more than to see a fully loaded cement tuck blow through this scene at about 60mph.
Sorry for the hatred but fuck these people.
No need for an apology. Completely warranted.
The more ridiculous the proposal, the shorter the marriage. Won’t last 18 months.
Natural selection should weed him out.
Where were those rednecks in the truck from the opening scene of Christmas Vacation when you need them?
White after Labor Day? How about a sweater when it’s 75 degrees out. I get that it’s December, but look at a thermometer every once in a while
As a Houstonian, this pisses me off because 45 is an abomination and this guy is a prick. More than that though, who wants to be proposed to on a fucking highway? My wife would have slapped me if I did some shit like that.
The only way this could be worse was if it had happened on 290
I’m from Omaha (small town USA in comparison to Houston), and the idea of someone doing this on I-80 makes me want to ram them with my car then throw it in reverse.
Well all relationships end in death and divorce….lets hope theirs ends with both. If they wanted to be all hipster and creative they should have done it on the “Be Someone” bridge.
I’m glad I was sitting down to see this because it took my entire body to hate these people. And not just the couple, but also their dumb ass friends willing to be cohorts in this display of selfish fuckery.
