For many, Yuengling and its flagship Traditional Lager remains their old reliable. It’s a solid, no-frills sipping beer that stands the test of time. While new craft breweries might steal the spotlight from time to time, America’s oldest craft brewery still churns out more beer than any other craft brewer in the states thanks to its solid 7-beer lineup. You can now add one more to that list. Yuengling just announced their first new year-round release in 17 years – a Golden Pilsner.
A good majority of the prominent craft brewers popular today weren’t around 17 years ago, so being able to release your first new year-round offering in almost two decades is a big deal. It’s definitely a power move from Yuengling. The new pilsner was developed over 18 months, which means that the version you’ll find on shelves will be the best version of what Yuengling can create. Like any good pilsner, Yuengling’s new version aims to be an instantly refreshing “noble hop flavored brew with a smooth, clean finish.” Yuengling even goes as far as to say that “the balance of flavors and enhanced drinkability offers a “New Standard in Refreshment” for beer drinkers.” Strong words, but when you’re the oldest American craft brewer in the game, I think you have the right to be cocky.
Coming in at 4.7% ABV, the sessionable Pilsner will be available in both cans and bottles, making a solid companion for any day-trip, boating excursion or BBQ party on your schedule. And at 135 calories a pop, it won’t do you much worse than your standard Miller Lite or Michelob Ultra.
Look for the Golden Pilsner starting April 1st across a variety of markets, including several in Florida and Georgia, Cleveland, OH; Harrisburg and Schuylkill County, PA; Atlanta; the Virginia Beach area; and Rhode Island. Yuengling expects the new brew to available across its entire 22 state distribution footprint by the end of the year. Cheers!.

I am very much looking forward to this. America’s oldest brewery never disappoints.
Yuengling is awesome. It does require a trip across the state line to Indiana to get some though.
You an Ohio guy too dave?
They sell yuengling in Ohio
And I am so happy that they do.
No, Chicago area, specifically I currently live in the city made famous by a movie called Wayne’s World.
Aurora? Naperville boy over here. Howdy, neighbor.
If you can find it their IPL it’s fantastic! They only sell it in limited run 6 packs but it’s one of the best IPL (India Pale Lager) out there. Same grain and hop bill as an IPA but lager yeast & cooler fermentation temp give it a smoother after taste than a traditional IPA.
They have it in Columbus, not sure how far south it gets unfortunately
I drink Yuengling over Miller Lite because it’s not a straw colored pilsner. Big Yuengling fan, but I don’t see the appeal. Fuck it, I’ll drink it anyway.
Hope it isn’t an April Fool’s prank
Still waiting to try the elusive Lord Chesterfield Ale
It is quite delicious
I’m sorry, this isn’t for me. But you can still catch me staying Avion one!
Midwesterners have a boner for Yuengling and I just don’t get it. Average beer, and for some reason I always get shitty hangovers from drinking it.
Pacifico is the king of beers, don’t @ me
I’m from Pittsburgh and its a “local” beer for us, the brewery isn’t in Pittsburgh but close enough. And every one around I know says its the best beer ever but I just don’t get it. Also Pacifico goes, can’t go wrong with mexican beer
Yuengling is good, but I think it has a certain mystique due to it not being available nationwide. I treated it as the golden goose when it wasn’t available in Ohio, but now I can’t remember that last time I ordered a Yuengling.
That’s why no one will remember your name
Well played
this is the best take
The lager for sure has some extra toxin stuff in it. Makes me hung every time.
Anheuser-Busch>>Yuengling
We’re talking about beer, not water.
