Jonah Hill absolutely killed it in The Wolf of Wall Street as Donnie Azoff. To play a character as complicated as one that married his first cousin and nearly choked to death on a piece of deli meat while on quaaludes takes some serious acting chops, and Hill damn near stole the screen from Leo DiCaprio.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Hill said he took just $60,000 dollars for the role, which is the SAG minimum for a featured role, to play Azoff just for the chance to work along Martin Scorsese on the seven-month long project. It paid off for Hill, because he’s racking up award nominations like it’s nobody’s business.
“They gave me the lowest amount of money possible,” he said in the interview. “I said, ‘I will sign the paper tonight. Fax me the papers tonight.’ I want to sign them tonight before they change their mind.”
The opportunity to work with perhaps the greatest director of all time was too good to pass up.
“I got to fucking be in a Martin Scorsese movie!” he said.
After that, why wouldn’t you love Jonah? Now, let’s go smoke some crack.

The minimum pay for that role is the maximum salary in my position. Cool.
Smart guy. Taking a measly $60,000 for one movie is worth the career move out of guest starring for shows like Reno 911 to real, credible motion pictures.
He’s gonna get 10 mil for every movie he does for the rest of his life.
Oh shit, there’s a new Jonah Hill Stern interview? youtubing that shit now.
for those who don’t know. Jonah is a HUGE Stern fan, and he’s a great guest on the show
Awesome. That is all.
