The best type of satire is the type that makes you sit there and think, “Wait, is this… is this real?” We’ve seen it with the Artisanal Wood video as well as the video with the hipster making toast. Just flawless execution to the point where you actually believe it could be in the realm of possibility that it’s true.
Yeti (yes, the cooler company) released a video of former Texas Longhorn great Jordan Shipley on their Facebook page yesterday that did just that. What feels like a coming-of-age tale of a former NFL wide receiver turns into a hilarious parody of every overwrought and emotional video that graces Facebook, YouTube, and (mostly) Vimeo.
“After retiring from football I was lost. I just really had kind of forgotten who I was. You lose something that you put so much time into and it’s like where do I go next?”After Jordan Shipley left the NFL, he was faced with a tough choice: stay true to his athletic roots or embrace his destiny, once and for all.

If you didn’t smirk when he started whispering to the elk while holding the milking apparatus (also known as “the suckler”) in his hands, then you’re not the type of person I want in my life. I mean, when he says, “I love to milk elk,” the video goes from being scarily serious to absolutely perfect.
