Seriously, what is up with all of the reboots? I wake up every morning with a new remake in my face and I’m never excited for them. Holmes & Watson could be different, though, if it’s done correctly.
Will Ferrell will play Sherlock Holmes while John C. Reilly will obviously play his sidekick Watson. It’s being directed by Etan Cohen, who made Idiocracy. That movie is a commentary on our country and it is severely underrated. Guy Ritchie tried his hand at making a couple Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey, Jr. and they were decent. The television counterpart with Benedict Cumberbatch is pretty good as well, and while both of these versions have had humorous undertones, I’d love to see Holmes & Watson make a mockery of all of it.
Like if Holmes & Watson is just another cookie cutter blockbuster with some clever quips and a generic storyline it’ll do well at the box office. But it’ll also be territory that’s already been covered and beaten to a bloody pulp. Hopefully Ferrell and Reilly can make it their own because remaking Sherlock Holmes is sort of like eating a pizza with only cheese on it. You know it’s just going to be okay. A lot is left to be desired. Don’t mess this up, Cohen..

This movie is a lose-lose. Either they try to be funny and it’s just not, or they follow the normal tone of a Sherlock reboot and Ferrell and Reilly can’t pull that off / make an audience buy into their characters. 3/10 would maybe watch for 35 minutes on a rainy day if football or golf isn’t on.
I get paid 95 bucks every hour for work at home on my laptop. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my good friend HUe is earning 14k /monthly by doing this job and she showed me how. Try it out on following website/…. http://bit.do/FOX92
**Edit**
John C. Reilly has the range to pull this off, but not opposite Will Ferrell after Step Brothers and Talladega Nights. Ferrell is just a bad all around choice for this.
“What do you want to watch?”
“I don’t care. What about you?”
*30 minutes later
“Think of anything?”
“Nah..”
*45 minutes later
“I guess we could try that Will Ferrell Sherlock movie that’s free on demand..”
*8 minutes later
“I can’t keep my eyes open. Let’s head to bed”
Idk if a lot of audiences will buy into this, their comedic punch as lost a lot of luster. They were funny from like 2005-2008 but now their improvised scrip comedy has just gotten tiresome. Ricky Bobby and step brothers were the happy Gilmore and billy Madison of their careers. Everything else has been garbage.
Kicking and Screaming is Will Ferrell’s most underrated movie. That film is absolutely hilarious but gets kicked (pun intended) to the curb because it’s only PG.
Walk Hard is an underrated movie.
Land of the lost is Will’s best. Not going to lie though, you have to watch it about 5 times to think its funny. Which was fine when I was in college and high most of the time.
Such a bad idea. Give me a Sherlock 3 with RDJr and Law, or another Cumberbatch special instead. No one will take this seriously and will be pissed if it’s a comedy.
Why would anyone be pissed if it’s a comedy? Based on the casting alone I think it’s a safe bet that it will be a comedy. The audience will know what to expect.
Because Sherlock Holmes is a mystery genre, not bro humor.
