Ehhh, all good, man. And I was a little harsh. For that I apologize. But your article did take the tone of knocking the culture and bit. And it’s the return to that culture that keeps some of us geezers still blading with day-gigs sane. Don’t forget to take the toecaps off when you post those BYBs!
I always frown on guys who write articles like this. It’s sad to see someone like this who is so out of touch and lost on the important things in life. Rollerblading is still around and an incredible extreme sport that has incredible athletes. I’m 32 and I have a successful career in the biotech industry in San Diego and I still blade when I can and I’ll never stop. I’m not hucking myself onto hand rails anymore but I’ll always go ride a local park with my good friends (who also still rollerblade) who I still have to this day. It keeps me young and healthy as well. It’s also helped me up my game and start taking what I’ve learned from blading to skiing.
I hate to say it, but this guy sounds like someone who was never good enough to land anything and doesn’t have the balls and/or confidence to continue to try so he talks down on the sport. Which is sad.
I’ll give this dude props for the Roadhouse shout out, but I really hope when this tosser is 20 years deep into a failing marriage, up to his ears in debt and contemplating suicide, he returns to blading. But before strapping them on, he’ll have to be sure to stick his foot in his mouth.

Nah, was mellow. Totally had time to write that lengthy reply. 🙂
