Cris Collinsworth is the worst announcer. Full disclosure, I’m an Eagles fan, but it’s really hard to listen to him commentate football games with Jerry Jones’ dick in is mouth. He will find ways to talk about the Cowboys EVEN IF THEY’RE NOT PLAYING THE GAME HE’S ANNOUNCING.
Also, as a fellow Birds fan… heartbreaking is an understatement. I mean, not a great season this year, but usually there’s some solace to be found in beating the Cowboys at least. Not so much this year.
Highly recommend one of the newer mini-series Sharp Objects, based on the book of the same name by Gillian Flynn. I read the book so I knew the ending, but the show is just absolutely fantastic. It’s a slow burn that keeps you coming back for more until the ending… which just absolutely blows your mind. Watch it, now!
I will never forget when I was in college and word spread that we got Osama Bin Laden. I was on the bus back to campus and everyone on the bus broke out in a U-S-A chant. My friends and I immediately hopped off and headed straight to the bars to celebrate. It was amazing, and like you said, the most patriotic I’ve ever felt.
Totally on the same page here. The book had me legitimately SCARED when I was reading it–and this is coming from someone who reads a ton of Stephen King and doesn’t bat an eye.
For what it’s worth, Chase Utley got a hero’s sendoff in Philly. He announced his retirement the week before coming back to town. He’s a phenomenal player and leader, and I know the Dodgers appreciated him, but I don’t think it was quite on the same level as Philly. I mean, he brought this city a championship! He will always be my favorite, too (I may or may not have gone to 2 out of 3 games in his final series at Citizens Bank Park…). To quote the great Harry Kalas, “Chase Utley, you are the MAN!”

T’s and P’s to your dog. I’m sorry, that sucks.

Who’d be down for a PGP Philly happy hour to pour one out for our poor lost souls?
I literally just finished listening to it a few hours ago. Talk about a gut-punch.
Philly, anyone?
^^^ THIS. Well done, sir.
Mailbag was climbing the charts, too! Would love to know their reasoning for cutting two of their most popular pods.
This makes me so sad.
WUT
But then I lose my purse chapstick and my work chapstick becomes my new chapstick and then I don’t have one for work…. vicious cycle indeed.
Not just a Midwest thing. My family has always had one and we’re in Philly.
For #1…. her condemning John for shitting on other people on the internet while doing just that herself in the comment. Oh, the irony.
No Mailbag post this week?
High key upset that Jurassic Park is leaving Netflix… one of my all-time favorite flicks.
Was just about to comment the same thing.

You should try using Splitwise. Game changer for stuff like that. My roommates and I use it for all of our utilities, household supplies, etc.
