Graduated last December but didn’t land my first “job” until around April. I pretty much did door-to-door sales for a shitty marketing company for about 3 months until I couldn’t take it anymore. I ended up quiting, but i got another job a month later (with an actual base pay) thanks to a college connection. Wasn’t even in my field but it was way better than the 100% commission gig I had before. I was there for a month before they let me go for complete bullshit reasons. They gave me my last paycheck and a really nice severance package, so I’ve actually been ok this past month. I’ve been just kinda living it up and enjoying all the free time I didn’t have before (traveling, football games, concerts, etc.). It was great at first, but it’s starting to get so monotonous. Feels like I’ve been unemployed forever and my self-esteem is at an all time low, but reading this article really makes me optimistic that good things are coming in the near future.
