As a San Diego fan we’re at a grand total of 0%. As a lifelong padres (and chargers fan still) never being able to taste that victory haunts me every day.
“Trying to figure things out” is a complete waste of time. There’s no point to anything we do besides what value we give to it. The real meaning to life is giving life meaning, and really that’s the most beautiful thing about it because you can make it mean whatever you want
I kind of like the thought of the third space. Post sex talks even with random flings can be insane because I feel like that’s the most vulnerable you can be without really giving a shit. I think that causes connections/confessions/opening up that people won’t even do to their best friends and sometimes that’s the best part of it all and why you feel a special place in your heart for them always.
If you ever feel like balling out, instead of dressing on salads try guacamole. It’s delicious, and those extra calories are actually getting you some solid nutrients.
Hot take, but I think dating apps will in the long run will actually lead to a culture where marriage is even more sacred and less divorces will occur. I’d be hard pressed to find anyone who would tell me that they wouldn’t settle down with someone who satisfied all of their needs (physical, mental, emotional, etc.) and all these apps do is allow you the ability to not settle with someone who doesn’t. Marriage for 30 years+ is a long ass time with one person, and wouldn’t you cherish the clarity that this person is your soul mate and would make every day worth it?
I think it’s sort of a societal expectation for men to withhold their emotions which is kind of sad. Not saying we should all be emotional messes, but it never hurts to be genuinely honest with the people around you if you feel sad, lonely, anxious, or any other “unmanly” emotion.
I know that feel, moved here in January from the west coast. Never thought I would say it, but I get excited when I see 40s in the forecast, because that’s “warm”.
I think we let fear and pain dominate every label. If a relationship is exclusive and both sides have a strong connection to each other then it is basically just a bf/gf situation with an excuse to make an easy exit if something threatens either side. I’m as guilty of this as anyone else, but it really does completely devalue relationships and their subsequent breakups.
It’s a date when the dude thinks it’s a date, simple. If the girl thinks it’s a date but the guy doesn’t she’ll likely be hesitant or nervous to make a move and the dude will be oblivious to any subtle hints so it doesn’t count.
As a diehard chargers/Padres fan moved to Minneapolis, I see where you’re coming from. San Diego/LA fans are some of the worst in the nation, so it’s crazy and awesome to see what actual fandom looks like especially after the miracle win last week.
Love and other forms of fulfillment are hard to find in today’s society because we’re now all about instant gratification. Sex can come with a few thumb movements, and social media is full of gratifying notifications, likes etc. Finding real fulfillment is kind of like eating vegetables, alone it’s not the most pleasing experience, but it’ll make your overall life much more satisfying. Easy sex, chain smoking, and finding that instant gratification means simplicity but taking care of yourself, creating meaningful relationships, and connecting with whatever occupation you may have is creating true happiness. But think what you will lol
Leo’s playing a masterful game. More than likely he will be a great guy and bro down with Jack to make you respect how he can be mature and keep things civil. At the same time he’s probably bringing a super hot old flame as well, a sure lay that will be all over him making you jealous. You’re not going to even be able to think about jack with how many emotions Leo is going to make you feel.

On the west coast we always called it rage cage, then you can call the person who keeps getting stacked “stuck in the cage”
If youre semi athletic and ever want to break a world record they have records for every beer and some are around a 10 min mile

I like to call it “taking a souvenir” to have at least something to remember after a good night.

I think by “having a transformative year” Jake means that he smashed the girls in that Christmas party picture and realize they have no substance.

Besides cost of living, San Diego is the best city in the U.S.
Moved here from SoCal recently too. Can’t believe this urge to break out the shorts in 60
I’m just pissed they don’t give me any of the profits.

This reminds me of the book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck” it’s a 10/10 read. Sounds silly, but really hits home.
