So glad everyone where I work has to wear name tags. Honestly, I’d just casually walk by his desk one morning and let him know you’re on your way to grab a coffee from the breakroom and ask if he wants one. Or you could be honest and say that you feel bad you never officially met and introduce yourself. I’m 6 months into my job and it happens. But if you play it off cool, it’ll be behind you before you know it. Congrats on the new job!
CMV, I know this is the complete opposite point of this post but we all know I hold everything you say up on a pedestal so I’d like your advice on something real quick. What do you say to start a convo with guys who don’t have anything written in their bio? Sometimes it’s just so hard to go off of nothing. Or do you just not swipe right on them at all?
And worst case if you are in a field where your GPA matters (which IS rare) there are a lot of things you can do to level yourself and bring up your value – clubs & organizations, leadership opportunities in said clubs & organizations, internships, jobs, etc. The college world is your oyster. Have fun, but also find someone who looks like they really have their shit together and figure out what they’re doing. There are a million opportunities like this in college you just have to be willing to take them on.
And to chime in, there’s nothing wrong with being single. My extended family members have suddenly decided to become extremely concerned that my 24 year old self will never find someone because I haven’t brought anyone home since high school and I love them but it’s rude. So I kindly put them in their place and remind them that I choose to be single (even if I don’t sometimes), I’m very content with my life and if I decide to make time for someone else I’ll let them know. And then I just change the subject and ask them about their lives. People love to talk about themselves so it’s not a hard topic to get them on. There’s no need to feel inadequate because you’re single even if it feels like everyone else is getting locked down. So many people are in shitty relationships, or are committing “just because” and that shit backfires. The time you’re spending alone is good for you and believe it or not, it’s preparing you for the right relationship that you WILL have some day. Embrace your independence and learn to be content with it. I️ promise you’ll be glad you did.
You are incredible. I know there will be a time when I thank God I have this article to look back on. Please don’t stop writing or being you. You rock.

Call me whatever you want. Is it too early to drop the “L” word? Thank you!!

Even though it’s probably true, I️ hate when people say that. I’m rarely “not looking.”
My generation of cousins all have an unspoken agreement not to bring anyone home unless we’re decently sure s/he’s the one. Our family is batshit.
She’s 23… no need to lock things down. If there’s a time to pick up and do something new, it’s now.

Hah I legitimately just laughed out loud
Gotta get high school-style creative
Fuck this is so brilliant.
LOL
I’ll be working all weekend. And thanksgiving. So, pray for me and have several drinks for me, friends.
Wow thanks for the pick me up. You are awesome.
I have such a girl crush on you. How are you single? Seriously? If you can’t find a man I’m definitely dying alone.
That’s harsh. I’m still on the family plan but I pay my portion and my job get everyone a huge discount on data so no one complains.
I will be 50 years old and still on my mom’s Netflix account.

You know what the answer is. Don’t fuck this up Josh.
If a guy asks for my Snapchat before anything else they don’t get a reply. Grow up.
