Hmmm, I’m the second of five and I think these studies were written by firstborns. I was a higher achiever than my older sister, I was more driven, talented and adventurous. The baby of the family with the influence of four older siblings at school was reading at 2 and had the ability too understand Shakespeare at 4. Yes she is a freak! However I wonder about the country of origin these studies come from. I am from mixed ethnicity where siblings are encouraged to sort their own rivalry and shit out when they are kids, at the very least teenagers. Sure some of it hangs around and sometimes mum gets involved as a sounding board however I believe the favouritism causes trouble. How many cases of siblicide are of the the younger ones knocking off the eldest because they are just so smug? Oh and boring did I mention boring??
