It’s the mark of a true gentleman and something I respect the hell out of when I meet a guy who goes the extra mile to be buds in an awkward encounter like this.
I have never not had a smart phone with maps since I have gotten my license. I was on a 8 hour road trip solo when I dropped my iPhone in a rest stop toilet. Had to complete the rest of the 7 hours with a gas station atlas and my gut. In the end it was a liberating experience and it’s my version of being self reliant and living “off the grid”. Ended up lost but got a “garbage plate” in upstate NY in some diner. Better than the Panera apple would’ve pointed me too.
