I feel that if you have the proper amount of swagger and/or you’re the CEO, bow ties are completely appropriate. If you lack that, however, leave it at home.
I totally agree with this list, but having just gotten married a few months ago (we were both 27 about to turn 28 so we did it right) I can’t help but wonder if the whole marriage thing would have been easier at 22 or 23. My friends who got married right out of college obviously missed out on a lot, but they also didn’t have a whole life established with careers, finances and houses/furniture to merge together like we did. But we didn’t live together beforehand so maybe that was our mistake…
My strategy has always been to leave for lunch right after everyone around you has. That way they don’t know when you left, so your hour lunch could be as long as 2 without anyone really knowing.
