Made this account for the sole purpose of commenting on this post to say I hope this date goes as swimmingly as my own interactions with bandwagon fans. I don’t live in a big hockey city, but while out downtown once my friends and I ran into some minor celebrity from an MTV show in town filming a movie. We were all chatting for a few minutes before he mentioned being from Vancouver, and I asked if he was a Canucks fan, expecting to get a good laugh out of this topic. But no. He claimed to be an LA Kings fan. Please keep in mind that this was right after the Kings had won the cup. Again. Needless to say, those friends won’t go out with me anymore because of the time I “kept them from banging a celebrity” by telling him he was a bandwagon fan and a terrible Canadian.
