This is an absolutely prime example of classic MSU little brother syndrome. Everything that fanbase does is just an attempt to compare itself to Michigan.
For people out there looking to get in shape this year, I’ll plug giving distance running a shot in the new year. Went from about 235 to 175 in the first half of 2017 by training for a half marathon and have kept it off and just gotten fitter from there. Winter is a great time to start too, easier than when it’s hot out. It’s free besides the shoes, you get some alone time and fresh air, and the races always give you a reason to stay motivated. Also, improvement is easily measured as you get faster which is very gratifying to see.
Best part of experience gifts is you secretly get to spend half the money on yourself. $120 omakase dinner? Yeah it’s now a $240 gift but you’re saving the money on a regular night out anyways and you get to have that sushi too. And, obviously, it means less useless shit lying around the apartment.
To each his own, but a little snow is great and the long falls and springs in NY are the best. I’ll take 50s over 90s any day of the week, so much more comfortable.
It’s a lot easier to run distances when it’s 30 out than when it’s 75 and sunny. I live in NYC so not quite as cold as Chicago, but high 30s/low 40s is honestly great running weather. You warm up quick but don’t spend a ton of energy trying to cool off your body. July and August are hell compared to November/December for getting some runs in.
Running on a treadmill is torturous, and this is from someone who likes running. Going 10 miles outside feels shorter than 4 miles on a treadmill sometimes. Way less sweat involved too.
It’s tough. Professor Thoms is the most packed Michigan bar in NYC and the closest team bar to my apartment, yet I’ve only watched one half of a game there this year. Just an absolute circus and can make it hard to even catch what’s going on in the game. I spend some time every week calling around to see which other places will be having audio for our games.
That said, for OSU this year I’ll wait outside before it opens for a prime bar seat. The party *if you win* is the biggest potential FOMO out there.
I spend $60 on my haircut every two months, so worth it. My man Doug is like a personal Jon Van Ness, actually has an overall vision for the cut, remembers what we’ve done in the past, and asks for feedback. Takes around 45 minutes, no mistakes ever. In return my hair looks way better than it would otherwise for like $1 a day. No brainer.
Take: If you’re a guy with the hair thickness to allow for more than a buzz cut and you’re spending under $40 on the every other month chop, it’s trash. This is your hair, people look at you constantly. Pay up a bit for the haircut so you don’t have some random slovak going to town on your noggin in between beers. Really, you should have a specific guy or gal you go to, not just whomever is free at the closest barber shop to your apartment.
Separate note, if you’re out of college and using 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, trashhhhhhh. Take care of yourself.
For anyone else who listens to Spittin’ Chiclets podcast (hilarious) they went down this rabbit hole with Gritty on the most recent episode and it’s so, so funny.
College football weekend ahead with pure stress Saturday night, need that Michigan W. Already a good start last night with Northwestern/Purdue – Lorenzo Neal get a brain moran.

What Do You Meme was the true proper evolution of Apples to Apples.

Big big one at noon tomorrow. Duda’s tears will taste like sugar, Go Blue.

Not cheap when it’s entirely true.

An entire article just to show everyone that you use Kiehl’s shampoo. Nice.
As a once a year hack, golf is a walk in the park ruined.
Most unsurprising comment ever from an Urban Meyer fan.
100% back you on this power ranking and will die on that hill. I never want to experience another summer again in my life, hate it so much.

I, too, enjoy bar trivia.
Whoops this was supposed to be a reply to the visiting nyc for the first time guy.
