One of my boys from back home did a similar thing. He broke up with his girlfriend in the middle of a 7 day cruise while with her entire family. Not only did he have to be on the boat with her/them the rest of the time but they all had to ride from Florida back to Baltimore in an RV once they docked. His reasoning/logic you ask? “I just couldn’t be fake any more, man. I just couldn’t do it.”
yea it did. a similar situation at my current career happened where I was on client site (doing an inspection at a residential High Rise complex) and a 70yr old black lady wasn’t happy that I was there (if you want the full story I can share cause it is rather crazy) but it ended with her punching me and calling me a “cracker ass motherfucker.” that’s when I was all like: <img alt="http://cdn.meme.am/instances/56072516.jpg"
This one is awkward… I was traveling to a client site and carpooling with one of my (then) account executives. she (a blond hair/blue eyed white girl… you can see where this is going…) was a very nice and intelligent young lady and we were in her car driving on the 495 DC beltway. only a matter of time before someone managed to cut her off, which is very common in DC/DMV as no one knows how to drive. Just so happened that it was a black fella that cut her off. in a fit of road rage she screams out “learn how to drive you fucking n****r!” the windows were up so I was the only one that heard it but we still had to ride together back to Baltimore. not a single word was spoken after that as we sat there in complete silence. she never made eye contact with me for the remainder of the time I worked for that company.
I know my opinion is not a popular one, but I stick by it. to be honest, even the negative feedback I get from here sometimes is better than the positive feedback I get here at work.
1. Yes. living in the worst traffic area of the nation has driven me to the bottom of a bottle of liquor on more than one evening.
2. No. you want to have an iPhone party, by all means enjoy it. Sorry that us Android users are able to create phone settings for ourselves rather than have a cookie cutter phone set out for us.
3. Work from home? nothing will get done for the majority of America. might as well just move to a 4×10 work week and leave everyone with a 3 day weekend.
The two adds are only similar in that they both revolve around nukes. LBJ’s add is used today as a textbook example of a “false dichotomy” (we must either love each other or die). It is a lackluster attempt to appeal to the Pathos of the people (the weakest of all 3 types of rhetoric).
The first add is an attack on Rand Paul’s Ethos (his credibility) as a politician. These adds are rather different when observing the message.
If you are only seeing craft brews of the IPA variety at the local watering hole then maybe its time to go to a new place and expand your horizons. Try heading to a local brew-pub to get a taste of all the beers that a brewery has to offer. I am fortunate enough to live in the Baltimore area where we have several craft breweries that are well known and only a short drive away (Flying Dog, DuClaw, Union, Heavy Seas, and more). If you go to these places where they only feature their beer on tap you will see all that they have to offer rather than just the “popular” beers that make it to the local bars.
To add to what Shibby shared, Flying Dog last year teamed up with McCormick Spice Company (the folks who make Old Bay seasoning) to come out with a beer that many in the mid-atlantic have come to know well because they used Old Bay while brewing the beer. throw some Old Bay on the rim and you have got an amazing afternoon drink.
did something like that. had the ring made from a private guy (came out awesome) and got a one of a kind ring for about 60% of what the actual ring is valued at. He sends me the appraisal letter with the actual value of the ring and I giver that to her so she can get it insured. she thinks I spoiled the hell out of her and I still stayed in my budget.
