I think people were expecting another season filled with pseudo-religious/carcosa/voodoo stuff and became disappointed that the plot involved relatively more common crimes like corruption and shady real estate deals.
Why is everyone ignoring the elephant in the room? This dude married a girl after dating for 6 months and she had been engaged to a different guy less than a year earlier. I feel like this won’t be a long marriage.

I can’t speak for the author, but at my all-male HS we didn’t have a prom queen. We had a homecoming queen and she was typically from one of the two all-female high schools in our city.
Well of course the answer is Speith if you’re trading places with everyone right now. But if you give me the choice of Speith today or going back in time and trading with Leo in 1997, then I’m going with Leo.
