Displaced Chicagoan now residing in Beer City, USA. Can be found on the weekends shooting a round of golf, sipping craft beer, or getting way too worked up over Chicago sports teams.
I’m shocked to see that fish fillets didn’t make the list. Hands down one of the best leftover foods of all time is my opinion. Especially when you take to the office and reheat it in the microwave. Man the thought of that is making me salivate as I type.
I never in my life have tipped on a pickup order and never will. In high school I worked as a host and cashier at iHOP and one of my duties was putting together carryout orders. I would see a tip on maybe 3 out of every 10 orders and learned that it wasn’t expected or very common. In addition, when people did tip, not a dime of that ever made it to my pocket even though it was largely my responsibility. One day I was curious so I asked a manager where that elusive tip money went and was told that it was divided up among the managers. That irked me a lot and made my decision not to tip on takeout orders even easier.
The Half Windsor is 100% where it’s at and has been my go-to ever since I learned how to tie ties in high school. It’s not as large and bulky as the Full Windsor but looks 10x better than the basic knot and shows you’re putting in just the right amount of effort.
The last time my wife and I went to a Halloween party we dressed up as Professor Oak and Ash’s mom from Pokemon. Overall it was a huge hit, was easy to execute, and checked both the humor and nostalgia boxes. Another year we went as Velma and Shaggy which was great as well. Agree with everyone who’s said that old cartoons/nostalgia is the way to go.
It sounds like your cat is chill enough and friendly enough towards strangers that this could work out which is awesome. If I brought my cat to work I have no doubt that she would damn near have a panic attack and probably run all over the place while going nuts. She gets scared and hides when maintenance people come to my unit so I doubt she could handle an office full of noisy strangers.
My company came very close to signing the Scientology HQ in Clearwater as a client and I would have been the account manager running it. Would have been a HUGE contact for us and would have likely warrented a few in-person meetings. They ended up going elsewhere though. I was bummed that I wouldn’t get to infiltrate them but also relieved because as you’ve said, that shit’s terrifying.
I actually completely agree with you on this. His policy is 100% based on the fact that he is married and not that he hates female gamers. I mean, do we know for certain that the policy was completely his idea and that his wife didn’t influence it in any way? Asking because I’ve known women who get extremely jealous when it comes to their SO and sometimes take it as far as banning them from hanging out with or talking to other women. Maybe he knows his wife is insecure and/or has jealousy issues? Not saying that this is definitely the case but this is a very real possibility in this situation since this guy’s apparent net worth is 6 mil. I mean, what if this guy decides to game with a female celebrity and then she promptly slides into his DMs? If that happened and his wife were to find out, it would no doubt cause an issue for their relationship. The bottom line is that it’s not the Twitch community that he’s worried about getting the wrong ideas…it’s his wife. It’s better for his marriage to implement this policy than to have to deal with potential problems that would come from him gaming with other women.
I too grew up without a Nintendo, and you know what? Quite frankly, I don’t really care and never really did throughout my high school and college days. The only game system that I owned and played religiously growing up was a PS2 and I was perfectly satisfied with that. Having played Nintendo consoles at friends’ houses when I was younger, I can say I enjoyed them but honestly, I think Nintendo consoles (not including hand helds) are somewhat overrated. If we’re being honest, I can count on two hands the total amount of titles / series that are actually worth playing on Nintendo systems which tend to be extremely limited in the content that they put out. Playstation consoles on the other hand consistently churn out dozens upon dozens of fantastic games and have an endless amount of awesome content. I actually applaud your parents for getting you guys Playstation and Xbox and not Nintendo. They had good gaming sense and knew what the superior systems were. Were there times in college when I would play Mario Kart with my floor mates and lose terribly? Absolutely, and once again I really just didn’t care. Because whenever we would switch to NCAA Football, Burnout, or Time Splitters, I was an unstoppable force and the tables would be immediately turned. Long story short, take pride in what games you’re good at and don’t feel bad about being crappy at others.
I like the plan but the execution was way off. The move would have been to show up in a full suit/shirt/black tie getup with a phony name tag with something generic like “production supervisor.” Then you show up at the gate and whip out your phone and pretend to get in a heated convo with a fellow staff member. You walk towards the gate like there’s not a damn thing that’s going to get in your way and if anyone questions it you get agitated and say, “Give me a damn break I’m WORKING.” That’s how you Danny Ocean your way into a concert.
I live right in the heart of Pure Michigan so I’m all about the windows wide open, oscillating fan cranked up, and that 65° breeze flowing throughout the night.
My fiancee and I are going to Ireland for 10 days for our honeymoon and we are both absolutely stoked. I might have to hit you up on the PGP sub-reddit for some travel tips.
Hell yeah, Perrin flys under the radar a lot but is one of my all time favorites. I’ll toss in New Holland as another solid option as well. They now have a taproom in GR so you don’t even have to make a side trip en route to the others.
I just visited Golden a couple weeks ago as part of a trip to Denver. My friends and I didn’t even do the tour and instead just went straight for the taproom to collect our three free beers. Would highly recommend this route.

Number one is the horse, number two is daddy’s money, and number three is the significant other. FTFY

Will, what are your thoughts on having all your apps on a single screen but organized into different folders?
For the record, this was meant as a reply to TonyBelievesInYou.

This article is great and all but I’m really digging the polo that I just picked up from the clearance rack at Kohl’s for seven bucks.
I second this. JD, if you ever happen to be on the West side of Pure Michigan hit me up and I’ll gladly shoot a round with you.

Taylor, am I seeing things or is this your third article this week? What have us PGPers done to be worthy of such content?

So Quinn, since both you and CMV are in the DC area does that mean that there’s potential for an epic crossover series?
