Not entirely related, but Disney literally has the best marketing team ever. Toy Story 4 AND Frozen 2? They’re getting the older generation who grew up with Toy Story and the younger generation with Frozen.
I don’t think Todd’s mom was thinking that Girl is mooching off of Todd. If I’m right in thinking they’re old money, then Todd’s mom probably just wants a daughter in law that seems to be doing something so that Todd’s mom can show Girl off to her friends. She seemed to take Junior League as an acceptable alternative to working, and JL is only volunteering after all.
I also find that a lot of people just “hang out” instead of going on real dates, even though their hang out activities can be exactly like what a date would be (movies, etc). Hanging out provides a lot less commitment than the pressure of going on a real date.
Okay but like, Todd’s not good enough for Claire. He literally was the biggest wimp in this whole conversation; Girl had to take charge or everything! Todd should have stepped up instead of letting Girl control everything.
Everyone seems to want Todd to leave Girl because he deserves better, but truthfully, I haven’t seen him be worthy of better until last time when he actually had the balls to say something to Girl about her ridiculous lifestyle
I think you need to also consider the possibility of the two of you getting married. Are either of you the sort to not want to “share income”? What are your goals and aspirations in life? Do you want kids, or do you not? If you do want kids, do you want to keep working or not keep working? Not saying you should feel one way or another, but certain choices will have consequences. I personally want to have kids but not work full time. That meant I either had to find someone who made as much as I would or more, or I would have to settle with not being as financially comfortable as I would like. These sorts of things are the more important things to consider (in my opinion) than who picks up the tab for dinner once in a while.
