My wife chose not to take my name because she has an art business registered with the state, along with numerous accounts, blogs, etc. When it’s a professional circumstance it makes sense.
But you can do that in pretty much any other major city.
Chicago has Chinatown, Greektown, Little Italy, Pilsen(which is Hispanic), we have Polish neighborhoods, Korean neighborhoods, pretty much any culture you can think of you can find goods and services if you’re willing to look.
That’s my take on it. Stereotypes exist for a reason. I worked for a Long Island based firm run by native NY-ers. NY’ers think they’re better than everyone else.
I’m sure every subway system ever is like that. I’ve ridden pretty much every line the Chicago Transit Authority has and guess what, there are creepers and panhandlers everywhere.
Lest we forget I got ripped the one time I criticized National Airport. I’ll take a hard pass on DC. I saw the Capitol and the Washington Monument from the airport. I’m good.
Pretty much. I drove Postmates in Chicago for 3 weeks, it’s killed me on wanting to do any sort of city driving, let alone really wanting to live in it.
Like the South Loop-lots of stuff within walking distance, but you have to deal with the taxes and paying $400k for a 1 bedroom condo. No thanks. I’ll stick to the suburbs where I can pay way less and have the city close by when I want it(auto show)
I’ve never been to NYC but I don’t desire to go there. I live near Chicago, it’s a nice city on some fronts and there are some really shitty parts-JUST LIKE PRETTY MUCH EVERY BIG CITY EVER. There are good people and assholes-like every city ever.
Well thanks for asking as always. Today I went back to my alma mater, but to speak at a panel on developmental education and my experiences in college. I am now headed to UIC, University of Illinois Chicago to donate in a blood drive and then the plan is to head home and have some pizza with the wife.
Saturday I’m taking a partial day off because I’m getting a CPAP machine installed. Plan on taking it easy afterwards. Sunday I’m going to go and see my mom whom I haven’t seen in a couple of weeks. I was driving Postmates but I quit that so it’ll be nice to have some relaxation.
Congrats, it doesn’t bother me if you think I’m a beta. That’s your opinion and whatever.
Oh shit…

Sounds like fun. 🙂
Well said, 19th.

I promised a buddy I’d take him to see Super Troopers 2 but other than that, forget going to the movies, honestly. I’d rather watch at home.

I was running a 99.5 temp so on the edge of DQ so I said I’d rather not chance it
I’m taking public trans back to my car but appreciate the look out just the same 🙂
Same to you

I’d totally watch this because it’s so relatable.
And it’s one-up-manship on all her friends.
I see what you did there.
Surprise to no one. Stevie Wonder would have seen that coming.
