Went for a physical first time since ’09… just hoped for the best. Somehow blood tests came back fine, sure I’m a little chubby but big deal, EKG and all that was fine.. so can anyone tell me why the fuck I can’t remember the last time I felt healthy?
I hit my quota for the month yesterday, first time all year because what my company expects out of me just isnt real, but I decided Wild Turkey 101 was the celebration I needed. I feel you man.
Try this one on for size.. first company happy hour was actually an interview where said company had 25 applicants come to a happy hour and try to talk to the important people wearing certain badges. It was like the god damn hunger games.
Being a remote employee I get this opportunity all the time. So enjoyable but there’s always the off chance of being tossed into a random pairing. The best solo golf memories I have were working as a cart and driving range kid at a local private club, sneaking out before sunset for as many holes as I could play, then washing everything up under the one flood light we had.
Being from CT where my small town had FIVE Dunkin Donuts, that was always the go to. Since moving to NYC it’s become a real addiction to hit Starbucks every single morning. $8.00 later I feel like an asshole, but will do it all again tomorrow.
Company AMEX > Per Diem. Morning trip to an airport or meeting within NYC where I live? Uber hooked up to the card, breakfast on the card, airplane seat upgrade on the card (send in the airline receipt as a pdf and erase the line with the extra charge). Give me unlimited charging ability now and if somehow the company catches it we then can address it.
…three guys before you hit horrific shots, step up and hit a mediocre center of the green iron shot.. partners get excited, just shoot them a glare and say “i missed it”
Love a good scramble but it does suck to be the best player in the group. Always pressure to putt last, hit the fairway after everyone else tops it or goes into the woods, and you’re group always expects you to win the long drive and closest to the pin. Takes all the fun out of it.
The Libertarian take is great and I agree with a lot of it. My issue with most Libertarians is that come election day they won’t go vote republican. They’ll either vote third party to “make a point” which never gets made, not vote, or even just vote Dem. As basically a branch of the GOP there needs to be more of an umbrella over Libertarians and your conventional conservatives.
This happened to me at a recent industry conference.. blacked out Wednesday night with clients, not sure how I got to my hotel room.. woke up, stood at our expo booth for 5 hours, proceeded to take a red eye flight home, slept the whole flight (thank you xanax) and woke up in NYC feeling just about as bad as the day before. I finally hit my stride around 5PM Saturday, only to punish my body again.
This is the worst. I work in sales, remotely, and get more calls from coworkers about our CRM and how to edit PDF files than I get from customers. Asking for a raise soon and this is actually one of my strongest arguments, I hold everyone’s hand.
As a guy that has grown up two towns from Yale in New Haven CT I know how much they’re a pain in the ass with things. However I wouldn’t wear a T shirt to my middle of the road golf club. Makes sense why people laugh at our generation.
Yeah somehow I never got around to my winter work out plan… also I think there needs to be a column on men’s body hair.. why does it seem like I’m the only 25 year old cave man still out there?
Two summers ago I made a hole in one in the qualifying round for my (newly joined) clubs member member tournament, immediately it was assumed I was some wunderkind and would dethrone the club champ, who plays in US Amateur events. Needless to say that didn’t happen. God Speed Will.
Similar situation here.. im a little over an hour train into NYC. Go in for a “meeting” or “prospecting” and just end up in a Starbucks on wifi waiting for friends to get out of work
I’ve been working remote for a year and there’s ups and downs..upside is the laziness and sheer ability to disappear with my company (I could go on vacation for a week and it would go unnoticed). But the lack of human interaction during the day and my girlfriend thinking shes better than me because she commutes is a real negative.
For a chubby 25 year old guy there is nothing better than Patagonia vest season and sweater weather. Those pumpkin beers arent low calorie!

I can feel it in my plums

Interesting to read this as I crack a bud light on a Tuesday afternoon.. gotta assume being a remote employee changes this up a little bit.
