Oh Boston Max, it’s because of people like you that the establishment known as “The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame” is the pathetic place that it is. First of all a few lessons for the few that know nothing of a few bands listed here.
Yes the band, has more musical talent in their multiple line-ups than anyone listed this year. They had one of the innovative electric bassists to ever play the instrument in the LATE Chris Squire and three virtuoso musicians for a short period in drummer Bill Bruford, guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Rick Wakeman. They could out play Pink Floyd on their worst day. More like a 70’s era Genesis on speed. They influenced Deep Purple and a couple of members of The Sex Pistols.
Kraftwerk. What you mentioned about them IS TRUE! Asides for David Bowie, no other musical act influenced so many musicians and spread to other genres. Kraftwerk hailed from a fruitful German scene that had some of the most innovative musicians to ever play in the Progressive Rock genre.
Electric Light Orchestra, an off shoot band of a enormously influential British band called The Move had more hits in both the U.K. and The U.S. than any other band in their time together.
Ignorant music reviewers might push their unprofessional biases towards these types of bands, but their fans, peers and overall significance to the “music” scene is bigger than the afford negative connotations often put towards these bands.
I could go on further, but I hope that you and those that read this will look into the sham that is this “establishment” and petition not for stupid vote-ins, but a proper induction regardless of genre of bands that truly mean a lot to music in the US.
To the administrator of this page, the post before me is a troll posting.
