Nowhere. But this story is like all fiction pieces on PGP – we react as if this were a true story, knowing full well that it’s fiction. How many “Don’t propose, Todd!” posts have we seen on TGDAG, knowing full well that deFries was going to make him propose anyway?
Exactly. Or do what my girlfriend and I are doing – stay in, split a $70 bottle of wine I got from work as a Christmas present, watch TV and go to sleep shortly after midnight.
If you have a girlfriend, why would you spend hundreds of dollars and 3-4 hours to be at a club that you don’t want to be at? Do people actually do this? Seems like an unfair relationship.
The fact that we can have these types of discussions – OK, Facebook comment wars – without any fear of repercussions is proof of how great of a country this is. We went from one half of the country calling the President a dumbass to another half of the country calling the President a dumbass, all without batting an eye. Regardless of what you think of Trump or what you thought of Obama or Bush or Clinton, being able to criticize them and their policies to your heart’s desire is a unique freedom that so much of the world does not have. It’s what makes ‘Murrica so fucking amazing.
Calling someone who disagrees with you an internet troll. Real nice. I thought we could have a civil discussion about this but guess not. Didn’t realize I was striking such a nerve.
“There are no longer protections in place to prevent Internet Service Providers from slowing down or outright blocking the Internet services we use to keep in touch, learn, work, create or beat Ross at FIFA.”
This is a lie. A literal lie. It is illegal for an ISP to intentionally slow down or block traffic that can be deemed competitive to it. It’s a violation of the Sherman Act and has been enforced and prosecuted by the FTC.
I did, your article is full of bullshit statements and lies. Your article literally peddles 99% of the talking points from Net Neutrality proponents. Have you read the Memorandom of Understanding between the FTC and FCC in the wake of the repeal of the 2015 act? The two will work together to investigate any uncompetitive acts by ISPs and will punish accordingly.
Google it. I tried posting the link here but posts with links don’t go through. Here’s an excerpt:
“The FTC will investigate and take enforcement action as appropriate against ISPs concerning the accuracy of those disclosures, as well as other deceptive or unfair acts or practices involving their broadband services.”
Prior to 2015, the FTC was in charge of regulation and oversight of the internet. During that time, no apocalyptic scenarios that have been so prevalent from Net Neutrality (honestly, this is a total misnomer) advocates happened. So why do you expect the internet as we know it to die, even though all this ruling does it delegate its oversight back to the same government organization that had been doing a pretty damn good job overseeing it for the previous 30 years?
Thank you for this. My mom passed away when I was 18 and I have a very strained relationship with my dad and his new wife. Seeing everyone with their families around this time does make me sad and long for that familial connection. I don’t go “home for the holidays” because I no longer have that childhood home to go to. So I appreciate this piece because it’s easy to forget that I’m not alone out there and other people have also been dealt a shitty hand of cards in life.
Am I the only person that thinks that “financial dominatrix” sounds like a 2017 euphemism for “gold-digger”?

To the un-named protagonist (“Guy”?): RUN. This girl’s clearly not over her ex so ANYTHING you do will be constantly analyzed and compared to him.

Careful now. Don’t tell her while you’re hooking up that you love her.
You found a keeper. Congrats and don’t let her go.

Thanks dude, yeah they really have and it means a lot.
Side note – congrats on the baby, hope you’re getting at least a few hours of sleep a night at this point.

That seems like an awful waste of time and energy.
I got an Android phone and have to use SMS like a goddamn caveman because everyone else I know has iPhones and uses iMessage.
But hey, at least it takes some incredible pictures
Yup. But I still prefer sparkling.
Sparkling water or bust.
That’s what she said?
150 weeks for the baby? She’ll be pregnant for 3 years…is she going to give birth to Satan? Wait, don’t answer that.
