Congratulations? If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on makeup that’s fine, but no need to bash someone else because they do. I love doing makeup to the point where it’s almost a hobby to me, and I have no problem shelling out a little extra disposable income on my favorite products.

I have to disagree with you on the clothing part. Women’s fashion is definitely expensive too, and tends to be more uncomfortable (try dancing the night away or even walking in heels and a tight dress) and less practical (why the hell cant most pants have decent pockets?).

I don’t want kids and my parents think I’m a monster for it, even though they already have two grandkids. Even worse are the older relatives who give me a condescending smile and say I’ll change my mind someday. Really? I’m in my mid-twenties now, I know what I want.

I have family in Seattle and I love the whole PNW area, mostly because of how out-of-this-world beautiful it is. Oceans, mountains, rainforests, waterfalls, etc. Would move there in a heartbeat if I had the chance, but for now I just try to visit as much as possible.

I 100% that the treatment of women in Saudi Arabia is horrible. However, this argument is brought up very often when American women discuss sexism and comes across as saying, “what are you complaining about? They have it worse.” It’s just dismissive, like our problems don’t matter because they’re not as extreme. When you vent about something to your friends, I’m sure they don’t just roll their eyes and tell you about someone they saw on the news who had a worse day than you. Yes, those women do have it worse. That doesn’t mean we should feel guilty for talking about issues that we as American women face. We can fight for our rights AND theirs. It’s not a pie; us having more won’t take away from anyone else.

I don’t see why they’re getting so furious over an article about a woman supporting other women. It’s not like sexism is dead. Just look at the massive amount of sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits getting thrown at Uber right not. “But women in Saudi Arabia have it worse!” So I guess we should just be happy to be allowed to leave the house at all? I love the content of this site but damn, sometimes it can be really unwelcoming if you don’t have a penis.

  • amberm 9 years ago on 5 Questions I Have For People That Don't Shower In The Morning

Just getting in the shower and not washing your hair can still fuck your hair up. The humidity, even from a short shower, makes my hair a frizz ball mess that will look shitty all day no matter what I do to it.

Washing your hair in the morning not only means getting ready will take forever, but you have to blow dry it too, and heat is also fucking terrible for your hair.

I change my sheets once a week. They still smell like laundry detergent by the time I swap them out. I can live with it.
