I made it my new years resolution to be more involved with my community this year, since I’ve basically done nothing since I graduated. This was just the spark I needed to get me excited about the possibility.
Moving stuff man, and my selfish wish is that getting out there will allow me to meet some people like you and the Mrs.
Good read Cush, and I couldn’t be more with you.
I’ve always said I’d be more willing to work ridiculous hours and have my free time to myself than work good hours and always feel “on the clock.” There’s nothing worse than an email from a boss/client/professor interrupting dinner or some other relaxation time.
I do my best not to think about my outside life at work or my work life at home. Compartmentalizing makes me feel like I can be more productive at work and actually enjoy myself the rest of the time.
I support financial analysts, all of whom took weeks off around Christmas. But hell yes, Oktoberfest is my Everest, gotta put those 8 years of German to some use.
I don’t think there’s anything I can’t go without for at least a day. Every time I hear one of those slogans, I just hope whoever is working is making bank.
Thank God for my actual boss. He’s actually in the office and we’re going to lunch at 11 and then sending an email when we get back “to prove we were here the whole day”
Yeah, pretty sure he wrote the “Go Outside” column. That article was so good it made me want to get up from my desk and drive straight back to Idaho and my buddy’s place near Seven Devils. Big fan of his work.
No problem, keep up the sage advice couched in personal stories and humor. I know there are other people out there who need the kick in the pants you provide to go out there and take risks and do great things.
Likewise, if any of you are in St. Louis for whatever reason, I’d be more than happy to grab a drink and tell you what to check out while you’re in town.
Yeah man, 2000 miles away from where I went to college and surrounded by coworkers with kids nearly my age and the people from high school I no longer have anything in common with, it just kinda hit me reading this
I actually feel a little badly about leaving out several primary contributors. Since what strangers on the internet think about me is coming far higher on my priority list than I thought it would today, I’ll go with the rest of the authors not specifically mentioned in by Madoff.
Cashback & 2NOTBrokeGirls, you’re the two people I’d go to if I want funny/witty commentary on what’s going on in the world. Cashback to bring to light funny things from the internet I’d never get to see otherwise, and 2NOTBrokeGirls to remind me about pop culture as well as the ever-important Netflix updates.
Cush, you’re coming on strong from the comments section and into the limelight. I’ve enjoyed all your stuff and I think you’re finding your voice. Keep it up, brother.
Johnny D, you’re a terrible person with a heart o’ gold. I respect that. You’re probably the closest thing to my friends from college, before they all got engaged/married/made babies in the last 6 months.
OldManBod, any friend of Will’s is an article I’ll click on. Look forward to more.
If you’re still left off of this list, it’s definitely because I hate you, and not at all because I was too lazy to go past the front page to figure out writers’ names.
I think I enjoy reading about your exploits with women more than I enjoy living mine. Keep on keepin on.

Coming from a guy who currently lives just outside St. Louis in IL…ouch. Not inaccurate, but ouch.

My answer is D, but I’d like to believe E would be my answer if I had the choice.
But the only other person in the office today is my boss. PGP.
Yesss. saw this on twitter this morning and was hoping for a write-up.

All of my sympathy. My guvment employee family couldn’t believe I was working Christmas Eve and New Years. But at least we’re not business as usual

My boss’ boss acted very generous when telling us we’ll get out at 2pm today. He sent the email from the Bahamas.
This both made me exhausted just reading it, and excited for the prospect of a kid…one day…
Well that took a turn. Less of a “How to” and more of a “Here’s your worst nightmare played out”
Do you want passive aggressive Facebook posts about you, Todd? Because this is how you get passive aggressive Facebook posts.
In the immortal words of Iron Maiden, “Run to the hills, run for your life”

You wouldn’t be any fun if you weren’t.
