Shouts to all the washed-up athletes keeping the dream alive out there.
Aside from keeping my right leg as immobile as possible this weekend, I’m going to dinner tonight with the fam and the Texas-WVU game with my cousin tomorrow. I’m in so much pain. Someone please put me down.
Listen to us discuss our weekends in fun on this week’s Touching Base.
What are you doing for fun this weekend?.
LSU v. Bama
WVU v. Texas
Michigan v. Ped State
Georgia vs a basketball school that thinks it’s good at football
(jk Kentucky, this weekend is going to be awesome)
State Penn
Tonight we are cooking at home and staying in. Salt Fat Acid Heat is replacing the usual Guy Fierri Friday. Peaky blinders after the wife falls asleep.
Big plans for Saturday. It’s Wurstfest time in central Texas. Beer, sausage, and polka all damn day.
As usual, Sunday is for recovery.
Take care
Flying out to State College to watch my sister play hockey, be home just in time to go to work Monday.
Is your sister on PSU’s squad or the Cuse?
Captain of PSU
Fell better soon Dorn!
Saturday: I’m playing hooky from work. Going to see my nephew, age 8, compete in his first bowling tournament! Then Saturday night watching one of my best friends say “I do” all over again.(she’s pansexual, her wife is trans, they’re getting married as two women.).
Sunday: up in the air as usual but possibly seeing my other nephew.
Had to Google “pansexual”.
Were they already married to each other before or to other people?
They were already married but both came out.
Pat Green made me forget I’m not 21 anymore so today is a day/night of recovery and Netflix.
Tomorrow we’re having a big all day family cookout to clear room in the freezer for deer season. Going to get way too full and probably take a nap in the hammock.
Sunday should be a perfect dog park and football day. Have a blessed weekend y’all
Final bird hunting weekend of the year with friends. Feel better man.
Bumble date tonight and CFB action with some buddies tomorrow. Enjoy it y’all
Heading to San Antonio for a job interview on Monday. Never been there before and looking for recommendations on things to do or places to eat so I don’t spend the day before stressing in my hotel room.
Go see the Alamo. Hotel Emma at the Pearl Brewery is a cool place to spend some time. There are good places to eat/drink right around there. The best Mexican food is Rosario’s, just south of the river walk. Contrary to popular belief, the breakfast taco orginated in south Texas, not Austin. Stop by any of the taquerias in town to try one out. Let me know if you have anything specific you are looking for.
Go to the Witte Museum, The Spurs play tomorrow, uhhh yeah that’s kindof it
I was in New York last weekend so my wallet is hurting. As a result, I will be reacquainting my ass to my couch this weekend and watching tons of football. On Sunday I’ll be hitting up Best Buy for a consultation about how to go installing a CarPlay dash in my car.
FWIW, as I consider myself someone proficient in installing car electronics, be very careful letting Best Buy touch anything
Thanks for the heads up, I’ll be on the lookout. Don’t think I’m going to buy anything just yet, I just want to see my options and how much it’ll cost since I also want to get a rear view backup camera installed.
I got this done about 6 months ago, well worth it. Advice from my experience:
1) Set a price range you want to spend on the whole thing, then subtract about 100-200 to get your price range for the unit itself. The rest will go to the backup camera + wiring and other parts.
2) I bought my unit from bestbuy online because it came with a free installation, so that saved me $70.
3) Once you’ve got the unit itself, try going to a Best Buy in person and talking with Geek Squad about what parts you’ll need. YMMV but the geek squad I went to gave me a print out with all the part numbers which made it way easier for me to order them on Amazon/EBay instead of paying Best Buy’s overpriced accessory prices.
So far car play has been incredibly worth it, I think my total came out to ~400 for everything. Went with a Sony XAV-AX100
After two months of waiting I finally get to pick up my puppy tomorrow, so I’ll be prepping for that. Can’t wait to finally be a dog mom.
