I think we can all agree that kids today are spoiled, with their participation trophies, their reliable internet access, and their high-definition cartoons. Particularly that last one. At the risk of sounding like a Scrooge, I have to say I miss the old days of badly animated holiday specials. You remember the ones, when the entire show looked like something your Uncle Larry drew after he had a bad trip. So in the spirit of taking it old-school, back to the days when Claymation was considered cutting edge, here’s a ranking of the top eight old-school holiday specials, along with when you can catch them this year.
8.) The Little Drummer Boy (1968)
When/Where: Saturday, December 5th, 12noon EST on ABC Family
Based on the classic Christmas carol, the first entry on this list is a special about a poor boy who joins the three wise men in journeying to the manger where Jesus is born. The only issue is that while the wise men have gifts for the baby Jesus, the only thing the boy has to offer are his sick drum beats. Good thing babies can’t really open gifts anyway.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town was awesome, but my favorite was always The Year Without A Santa Claus. Snow Miser was the shit.
For real. Highly underrated Christmas movie.
Both the Miser brothers rock. Miser Brothers Christmas was a lame attempt to bring them back. Also, claymation Jack Frost was prime.

Great news — if you download the app, it puts it on one page.
Staring at your phone at work is apparently “frowned upon”. Staring at your computer gives the allusion you’re actually working.
