Brush the dust off of your old VCR or DVD player and get a fresh viewing of The Ring in while you still can. Outside of The Blair Witch Project and Joy Ride, I can’t remember another movie from my youth that scared me as much as The Ring did. The premise in 2016 is completely ridiculous and outdated, though.
No one has a VCR anymore to watch that tape and Naomi Watts isn’t carrying a movie like she could in 2002. You had seven days after watching the tape before you died, and the revamp, which is set to be released October 28th, is called Rings. New cast of characters obviously, and from the trailer I can deduce that some jackass found the old VHS and then decided it would be a good idea to upload the tape to YouTube. Amateur hour.
You can bet your sweet ass I’ll be at the premiere for this one. I go with scary movies pretty much all of October save for a viewing of Halloweentown. I’m ready for some Samara.

Have there ever been any good sequels that came out more than 10 years after the original?
“Creed” was a good movie.
Finding Dory
Toy Story 3
I agree, but it felt more like a soft reboot than a complete sequel. Rocky Balboa definitely fits the bill though.
Clerks 2, 12 years. Boom.
Mad Max: Fury Road was a good movie. Jurassic World was ok. Godfather III was ok. There aren’t many.
Godfather III was horrendous when compared to the first two
A little less than 10 years, but Aliens and Terminator 2 came out 7 years after the originals and were arguably better.
Arguably better, yes. But there’s no arguing that both sequels were more fun than the originals.
