As much as I enjoy stalking elementary schools and daycares for a cookie dealer this time of year, sometimes you have to search a little harder to find someone who has “the stuff” and this new Girl Scout cookie app developed by the Kellogg Company makes it easier than ever. The tool is designed so that you can find your nearest Girl Scout cookie provider based on where you’re located geographically. The good news is that while you’re on your couch watching TV and you stick your hand in your cookie box only to realize that you’ve eaten all of them, instead of perusing the neighborhood for little girls in brown vests pushing cookies, you can just hit up the app via iTunes and find a public sale that has registered on the app.
So thanks Kellog for developing perhaps the best thing that has ever happened to us Girl Scout cookie addicts. But it does have its pros and cons. It only provides the location of sales registered through the app, but I say that it’s better than nothing. I’m sure our neighbors who have Girl Scouts for daughters appreciate the fact that we’re not able to go all Tinder on them by showing up on their doorstep because the app told us it’s where we could find some cookies.
